Elle Fanning stars in new Hideo Kojima game

A mysterious QR code led to a hidden image that showcased Elle Fanning’s involvement with the upcoming untitled Hideo Kojima game.

Actress Elle Fanning, nominated twice for the Golden Globes for her role in The Great, has been confirmed to be acting in the upcoming untitled Hideo Kojima game.

Hideo Kojima is a world-renown video game developer, mostly known for his work producing and directing the Metal Gear Solid series.

After his horror game project, a new entry in the Silent Hill series, was destroyed by Konami, he founded his own studio, named Kojima Productions.

Kojima is well-known for his love of movies — aside from posting about them on Twitter, he also sneaks in movie references into his games often, and is not shy about recruiting famous actors and actresses to play in his projects.

Both the failed Silent Hill reboot and his latest game, Death Stranding, starred Norman Reedus (of Walking Dead fame,) as an example.

The reveal comes courtesy of Lance McDonald, a programmer and data miner known for his work reverse-engineering games like P.T and Nier: Automata.

At PAX Aus, a video game convention in Australia, McDonald discovered a new billboard hinting at the next Kojima game.

Near the billboard was a QR code that led to a full reveal of the Elle Fanning poster, titled “WHO AM I?”

The new teaser image shows a silhouette of a person with the words “WHERE AM I?” and the game’s logo.

Other than these facts, nothing is known about the game. Rumours have circulated that Kojima is working on Death Stranding 2, but no confirmation exists as of yet.

PAX Aus is a gaming event that brings fans from all over Australia and New Zealand, as well as gamers from around the world, to try new and upcoming games, and meet content creators and game developers.

It had been put on hold for a few years due to the COVID-19 pandemic — the last PAX Aus was in 2019, with 2020 and 2021 cancelled.
