Diablo Immortal: Best character class for you to start out with

The new Diablo Immortal features six unique starter classes. In this guide, we help you pick the right class for you.

Diablo Immortal: The Best Starter Class for You

When you start up Diablo Immortal you’ll be met with six unique classes to start out with, each with its own strengths and weaknesses for you to carry forward into the rest of the game. You also need to consider how Diablo Immortal is monetised, and how that might set back your wallet.

This guide is here to help you pick the ideal Diablo Immortal starter class for you, so you can get started quickly and easily.

Barbarian

This class is about getting close and dealing high amounts of damage as quickly as possible. This huge warrior charges into battle head-first, swinging weapons like a monster fueled by hate and caffeine.

Chained Spear pulls enemies toward you, allowing you to slice through until there is nothing left. Once close, Hammer of the Ancients delivers a massive blow, smashing enemies. There is also Whirlwind, which turns your Barbarian into a tornado of destruction. Sprint and Furious Charge offer high mobility, allowing you to chain attacks together seamlessly.

Crusader

The Crusader is Diablo Immortal’s version of a Paladin class. The Crusader combines melee combat with ranged using the Spinning Shield attack that draws enemies in close. Falling Sword is an AoE that summons a weapon that impales the ground. Shield Glare also blind enemies, and then Sweep Attack just slashes through hoards.

The Crusader excels at both dealing damage and tanking for allies, making it an excellent class to have on any adventure.

Demon Hunter

If you prefer to keep enemies away then the Demon Hunter is for you. Knockback Shot does exactly that with a huge arrow, and Rain of Vengeance rains a volley of arrows down from above like you’re jogging towards Starscourge Radahn. Daring Swing is another great move to use, which you can use to move out of harm’s way in a pinch.

This is a swift class with ranged attacks, and if you hate taking damage, this is the class for you.

Monk

If you’re running with the Monk class, you’ll be using the fastest class in the game. This class has high dexterity and dishes out swift, fast attacks at a pace that lets them do plenty of damage. Plus, the HP and Defence on this class isn’t too bad either.

Cyclone Strike can pull enemies nearer to you, and then you can follow it up with some flashy attacks like Flying Kick, which knocks opponents back and into surfaces for extra damage, and Seven-Sided Strike, which is another rapid attack that can hit multiple or a singular enemy.

Necromancer

When playing as a Necromancer you’ll be using moves like Corpse Explosion and Grim Scythe, which are brutal as they sound. The first uses the corpses of fallen enemies and makes them explode – descriptive, at least. The latter is a heavy short-range cleaving strike. Again, makes sense. You can also keep enemies busy with Command Skeletons – no prizes for guessing what that would allow a Necromancer to do – and Bone Spikes, which has bones erupt from the ground.

If you want to hang back while letting your summons and friends do the dirty work, this is the class for you.

Wizard

If you love to deal damage while teetering on the brink of death at all times, the Wizard is the class for you.

Arcane Wind will be your main attack to keep foes at bay, while Scorch will spawn a giant fireball to rack up damage. Lightning Nova will attack enemies on all sides of you, while Frost Nova is a directional beam that will slow enemies while outputting big damage. If you’re into spellcasting, this is the one for you.
