Under Apple's retail policy, people who paid $629 in the two weeks before the announcement are entitled to a refund of the difference in price.
"Should Apple permanently reduce its price on any Apple-branded product within fourteen calendar days of the date of purchase, you may request a refund of the difference between the price paid and the current selling price," the company says.
To claim the refund, customers will have to provide a purchase receipt within two weeks of the date of the price reduction.
