Vodafone store evacuated after iPad explodes
A VODAFONE store was evacuated and the fire brigade called in after an iPad exploded, causing the shop to fill with smoke.
A VODAFONE store in Canberra was evacuated on Wednesday after an iPad exploded.
"A burst of flames" appeared from the charging port of an iPad demo model, a Vodafone spokesperson confirmed to news.com.au.
The firebrigade was called in after the store filled with smoke and sparks continued to appear from the charging port.
No staff members or customers were injured during the incident, Vodafone confirmed.
News.com.au understands an Apple representative visited the store on Wednesday to collect the device for testing to find out what caused the incident however Apple has refused to respond to News.com.au's requests for comments.
