New gadgets are coming at us all the time so when one from last year is still being called one of the best, it’s worth taking a look at.

If you haven’t already got your eye on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 then you might want to pay close attention. For a device that was released almost five months ago, it’s still being touted as one of the best android tablets on the market. And right now a couple of different retailers are selling these devices for up to $300 less than their regular retail price – these deals don’t often last long.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 (Wi-Fi) is an 11” tablet that comes in silver, bronze and mystic navy (but can also be found in black on occasion). It has a smooth 120Hz display and a speedy Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ chip which makes for a great user experience.

Including Quad speaker sound by AKG and Dolby Atmos, which is surprisingly loud for a tablet. The device has a fingerprint sensor for security and even supports a micro sd card up to 1TB if you want to expand your storage (the base model starts at 128GB of built-in storage).

The tablet has a front 8MP camera and two cameras on the rear – a 5MP F2.2 Ultra Wide and a 13MP F2.0 Wide-angle.

The device can even record 4K video at 30 fps (although I found this impressive, don’t expect the best 4K recording of all time). All of these cameras are a great package though, for all kinds of users.

They work well to scan-in documents, or for simple photos. The front facing camera isn’t anything to write home about but paired with the fairly impressive in-built microphone it’s quite a good setup for a Zoom call.

Unlike some tablets this one also comes with a stylus, aka the Samsung S Pen. It works extremely well and feels surprisingly close to writing and drawing with a pen or a pencil which is great for taking notes, marking up documents and even drawing.

Pair this with its ability to multitask with split-screen modes and this is an excellent all-round device.

You may want to keep your eye out because at the moment there are a couple of sales and bargains around for this device.

The Galaxy Tab S7 usually retails from $1049 for the baseline 128GB Wi-Fi model (and there is a larger Galaxy Tab S7+ that starts at $1449 on Samsung’s website). However, on Amazon in particular, what seems to be the same device is available for a massively discounted price of $A792, as it’s US stock and ships from overseas.

The downside? It only comes in black and I’m told these are shipped with a US Wall Plug but as it’s charged via USB-C you’ll only need your own Aussie USB-C charger to use this as you would regularly.

Whether you grab the device on sale or not, it’s priced the way it is because it can handle Zoom calls to gaming, emailing, illustration, multi-tasking and note taking.

It fits the bill for anyone wanting a powerful, reliable and versatile tablet that can do it all. If you’re wanting an android device, this is the best of the best and it’s perfect for a student looking for something between a tablet and a laptop or a business person looking for a portable work device.
