Apple redefines the dad joke at its October iDad event
FOR a long time Apple was the coolest brand in the world, but this morning’s launch was lacklustre and full of cringeworthy moments.
APPLE’S October event this morning was full of tiny new iPads, big super high resolution iMacs and every possible dad joke under the sun.
The iDad event saw all of Apple’s executives seize the opportunity to practice their comedy routines.
There was even a daggy presentation on Apple’s updated ‘security systems’, complete with ‘Supreme Commander of Secrecy’, comedian Stephen Colbert.
This follows the U2 incident after the iPhone launch and has now left people wondering whether or not Apple has lost its cool factor. As you’d expect, Twitter had a lot to say about it.
Instead of being hijacked by Chinese interpreters, this Apple event livestream was hijacked by lame dad jokes.

An Apple exec and Stephen Colbert are doing an entire comedy routine on stage, over the phone. This is the Dad-jokiest company in tech.

We have a new level of awful jokes. First we had dad jokes, and now... Apple Jokes.

Apple Presentation rating: Pretty strong, iPad introduction was meh, 5K iMac might be cool. Dad jokes/10
