Apple lands fatal blow against Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in Australia
COURT grants Apple injunction blocking rival from selling Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia.
NO deal. Apple has gained the upper hand in its tablet computer battle with fellow tech giant Samsung, winning an injunction to block the sale of the Galaxy Tab in Australia.
The competing electronics companies have been locked in legal wrangles across the globe over claims that Samsung "slavishly" copied the design of Apple's iPad and iPhone.
The patent case has now swung in Apple's favour, with the company previously admitting it considers the Galaxy Tab 10.1 a huge threat to the iPad 2.
Apple's win at the Federal Court proves a major blow to Samsung's ambition for the Galaxy Tab 10.1, which had been scheduled for imminent release.
