APPLE has announced a partnership deal with Nintendo to launch a new Super Mario game first on the App Store.
Super Mario Run will be a side scrolling, automatic running game where the user will control when Mario jumps.
Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto appeared at the Apple Event in San Francisco to demo the game. He said the game would be playable with one hand.
A competitive online mode titled Toad Rally was also shown, where scores are ranked against other users.
The cost of the app was not revealed. The game will be released in “holiday 2016”.
The announcement follows the global success of augmented reality game Pokemon Go.
Launched in July, Pokemon Go has been downloaded 500 million times worldwide.
Apple also revealed a Pokemon Go app for Watch which tells you how far you have walked and what Pokemon are nearby.
