Apple iPhone 12 mocked for looking like iPhone 5
Apple is copping a bunch of criticism for unveiling new iPhone 12 models that look exactly like the iPhone 5 from eight years ago.
Social media has been flooded with reaction on the look of the new iPhone 12.
Models of the new Apple phone are confusing fans who say they’ve been transported back to 2012 because they look like the iPhone 5.
The computing giant today revealed the biggest iPhone ever alongside three other models and another device.
Its new smartphone will come in four new models – the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max a Mini version.
The Mini is basically a smaller and cheaper version of the iPhone 12 containing all its features, but in a smaller, lighter form.
While its 5.4-inch display and body is said to be similar in size to the iPhone 8, fans didn’t agree.
“So iPhone 12 is just an iPhone 5 with iPhone 11 camera,” said one person on Twitter.
Seriously, Apple's new iPhone 12 is a literal remix of Steve Jobs' greatest iPhone: the iPhone 5, MagSafe, & variations on color (rose gold)!ð¤¦ââï¸

That's where Apple is in 2020: their biggest innovations are things Jobs did over a decade ago. https://t.co/Cx2sDQ2jv2 pic.twitter.com/CfcGtnGLLr

Another woman said, “We are paying all that money and for what? A better camera? It looks like the iPhone 5 but with 3-2 cameras.”
One man said, “Man I sure hope the iPhone 11 is cheaper so I can cop that instead of the iPhone 5 remaster.”
Many criticised the cost of the phone if it sported similarities to its version 5 predecessor released in 2012.
Others said they expected the company to be more innovative, with iPhone 5 quickly trending on Twitter.
Another man wrote, “Seriously, Apple’s new iPhone 12 is a literal remix of Steve Jobs’ greatest iPhone: the iPhone 5, MagSafe, & variations on colour (rose gold)! (face palm). That’s where Apple is in 2020: their biggest innovations are things Jobs did over a decade ago.”
But reaction was also positive, with many loving the look of the iPhone 5 and saying it was their favourite.
“Currently as an Android user I have been watching Apple, from the sidelines, try their hardest to make their phones of the past 7 years look as good as the iPhone 5 that I once loved – and never come close. Finally they decided to bring that design back with iPhone 12,” one person wrote.
Another woman said, “Omg it looks like the iPhone 5 … HAND IT OVER”.
Another fan said, “iPhone 12 sucks but damn going back to the iPhone 5 bumper and back I neeeeed it dude I remember seeing an iPhone 5 … thinking it was the tits. (And in terms of phone design it still is and I need an iPhone SE 3 that’s in the iPhone 5 case).”

APPLE ROASTER OVER NEW IPHONE OMISSION
Many Apple fans had also been hoping for a USB-C port on the new phone – the industry-standard connector that is being used by pretty much every other major tech company in the world.
But their hopes were dashed this morning when Apple announced it would be continuing with its Lightning charging port.
It confirmed the new iPhone 12 models will include a new Lightning to USB-C cable instead of the classic Lightning to USB-A cable.
The new cable replaces the USB wall charger which used to come with the phones, so you’ll need to charge your phone by plugging it into another USB-C power adaptor or computer port.
Apple claims it is ditching the boxed headphones and charger for environmental reasons – saying customers around the world already have a combined total of 700 million headphones and that many customers have moved to wireless.
It says two billion of its power adaptors are out there in addition to billions more third party ones.
