iPhone 7 latest leaks

THE co-founder of Apple has predicted backlash if one rumour of the upcoming iPhone7 holds merit.

Steve Wozniak said a lot of customers will be frustrated if Apple remove the headphone jack, without fixing pre-existing issues with the iPhones Bluetooth.

“If it’s missing the 3.5mm earphone jack, that’s going to tick off a lot of people,” Mr Wozniak toldThe Australian Financial Review.

“I would not use Bluetooth … I don’t like wireless. I have cars where you can plug in the music, or go through Bluetooth, and Bluetooth just sounds so flat for the same music.”

Mr Wozniak said he expects people will still be able to connect wired headphones into the lightning port of the iPhone, but they will have to source an adaptor.

“Mine have custom ear implants, they fit in so comfortably, I can sleep on them and everything. And they only come out with one kind of jack, so I’ll have to go through the adaptor,” he said.

Mr Wozniak said he would only consider going wireless if Apple fixed problems with its Bluetooth.

“If there’s a Bluetooth 2 that has higher bandwidth and better quality, that sounds like real music, I would use it,” he said.

“But we’ll see. Apple is good at moving towards the future, and I like to follow that.”

The technology entrepreneur said he believed Apple should follow the lead of Google and Samsung by introducing USB Type-C porta next-generation industry standard offering ultra-fast data transfer speeds, device charging and video output.

“One of my favourite Android phones, the Nexus 5X, uses that connector. It gives it a higher level in my own thinking,” he said.

“I think USB-C is going to be the future.”

Despite leaving Apple in 1985, Mr Wozniak continues to provide the company with advice and these comments could be no exception.

With the iPhone 7 expected for release in early September, people will have to wait until then to see what Apple have planned.
