LG unveils world’s largest OLED TV in Berlin: OLED evo Gallery Edition TV

LG has released a new TV that dwarfs the ordinary human, along with a fridge that changes colours and a shoe rack that will blow your mind.

PlayStation 5 Is Getting More Expensive

Bigger is better when it comes to TVs.

And LG has done just that by releasing the world’s largest OLED TV at the IFA 2022 electronics trade show in Berlin.

The Korean tech company unveiled the enormous 97-inch OLED evo Gallery Edition TV, model 97G2.

At nearly 2 metres across, the television dwarfs those in most loungerooms in Australia.

The size of the TV was put into perspective by a photo posted on Twitter by tech reporter Vinvent Teoh.

“Posing is for scale,” he wrote after coming across the TVs at IFA 2022

The monster TV features self-lit pixels that can be turned on and off individually to reproduce stunning colour and contrast.

LG said the TV’s “backlight-free, OLED display technology allows for the creation of unprecedented form factors such as flexible and rollable TVs.”

The TV also uses advanced AI-based image-processing technologies to improve picture quality.

The model will be coming to Australia at the end of October.

LG’s OLED range now includes 42, 48, 55, 65, 77, 83, 88 and 97-inch options.

The huge 97G2 is designed to be wall-mounted and has the classic LG OLED flat design.

The price is yet to be released.

LG’s 136-inch LED 4K TV

If 97 inches isn’t big enough, LG has upsized its LED TVs to Godzilla-size.

LG is also featuring its massive LG 136-inch 4K Micro LED at the Berlin show. The TV stretches 3.8m wide and is 2.1m high.

The company said that despite its gigantic size, the TV still retains “premium picture quality on an impressive scale, pairing micrometer-sized self-lit pixels with a modular design.”

‘Flexible’ TV

The Korean firm also unveiled the groundbreaking LG OLED FLEX.

The TV is the world’s first bendable 42-inch OLED TV.

The stunning technology allows for the display to arc, ranging from completely flat to curved (curvature of 900R).

LG designed the TV for use in console, PC, and cloud gaming as well as live TV broadcasts and streaming services.

Colour-changing fridge

Another cool tech product released by LG at the show is a colour-changing fridge with built-in speakers.

The MoodUP fridge has colour-changing LED door panels and a built-in Bluetooth speaker — party in the kitchen anyone?

You can “set the tone” in your kitchen by selecting from a wide range of colours and themes for the LED door panels.

And if you’re pumping tunes, the fridge can synchronise the hues of the fridge with the built-in speaker.

Next-level shoe rack

LG has also released new tech for those who love a pair of kicks more than a hot meal on Sunday.

The LG StylerTM ShoeCase and ShoeCare was unveiled at IFA 2022.

Created specifically for Millennials and Gen Z, the shoe storage and display allows for people let their shoes take the centre stage, while also receiving optimal care.

The new appliance’s interior features include a 360-degree rotating turntable and a modular design that makes it possible to stack up to four cases on top of one another. LG said.

And the LG Styler ShoeCare utilises the company’s TrueSteam technology to keep your shoes clean.

Also, the Zeo-Dry filter’s absorbent properties of zeolite soak up moisture and help remove odours from footwear.
