CES 2017: Qbuds, CT Band and PowerRay lead the pack in innovative ideas

FORGET about your pricey noise-cancelling Bose headphones or trendy Beats ones. These are the buds you’ll want in your ears.

Nuheara: Giving You Easy Control to Tune Out or Tune In - Promo

THE world’s largest consumer tech convention kicked off in Vegas today, with CES’ Unveiled event giving a sneak peak at what’s ahead for the coming days.

With 190 global tech companies showcasing the latest and greatest in innovation there was an array of amazing displays.

Here are some of our early favourites:

NUHEARA IQBUDS

The fact Australians Justin Miller and David Cannington raised almost $1.1 million through a crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo tells you everything you need to know about this product.

Working in Perth and San Francisco, the founders developed a product known as IQbuds — an intelligent wireless ear bud that allows people to control how they hear what is around them.

“Our IQbuds have been tested on thousands of consumers who are delighted they can finally have solutions to hear what they want to hear — from great quality music to ‘pub deafness’,” Mr Miller said.

The buds use super intelligent noise cancellation technology, which enhances the user’s ability to hear speech in noisy, crowded environments.

This allows the user to drown out ambient noise and focus speech for much clearer conversations.

Additionally, users have the option for blended hearing digital streaming audio with their physical world — think of riding with music, but still wanting to listen for traffic.

While offering these great features, the product hasn’t sacrificed quality with the IQbuds delivering high-end sound fidelity.

The product also has impressive battery life, providing 16 hours of on-the-go Bluetooth streaming and 32 hours of on-the-go hearing augmentation.

Nuheara will soon start shipping the first products to those who committed money in the crowd-funding campaign, with the general public able to buy them in early 2017.

CT BAND

Smart watches offer great features, but they are not the most aesthetically pleasing compared to traditional watches on the market.

Thankfully, Rifft has created the solution in the form of a smart watchband, which has been designed to attach to any standard watch face.

Best of both worlds.
Best of both worlds.

“CT Band uses cutting-edge technology to integrate a complete range of sensors, a tactical navigation touchpad as well as screen, within a strap less than 6mm thick,” the company explained.

The band is available in silicon or leather and a range of colours, and is water resistant.

Proving it is capable of stacking up against smart watches on the market, the band offers the following features:

· Speed recording

· Number of steps

· Temperature

· Distance covered

· Heart rate

· Blood oxygen rate

· Time of effort

· UV index

· Text message, email, call, voicemail and social network notifications.

POWERRAY

Fishing is fun, but no one likes spending a day on the water without even getting a nibble.

Enter PowerVision’s PowerRay — an underwater drone for tracking, photographing and baiting fish.

By using the PowerRay Fishfinder sonar system add-on, the user can detect fish up to 40 meters below the underwater drone, which has four hours of battery life.

The Fishfinder has a built-in blue light to lure fish while users are also able drop bait from the product.

Don’t just sit around waiting for the fish to come to you.

While the product offers a 4K video stream to your smartphone, there is also the ability to immerse themselves deeper in the experience with VR goggles showing the footage and controlling the unit through head movements.

“By introducing PowerRay, PowerVision is completely changing the way we have been fishing in the past 7000 years,” the company said in a statement.

“Through innovating the fish-finding technology and features, providing the thrill of finding the catch and an immersive underwater experience through virtual reality, PowerRay is going to provide more efficiency, thrill, and fun to fishermen around the world.”
