Upgrading all your devices can get expensive so the Black Friday sales are a good chance to save on popular gadgets from all the big brand names.

Today marks the start of official Black Friday sales with a variety of Australian retailers offering huge savings on some of the hottest gadgets, making it a great time to pick up a bargain.

Black Friday is an annual sales bonanza that originated in the US, falling on the Friday after that country’s annual thanksgiving holiday and kicking off the holiday sales season.

The sales event has attracted huge amounts of international attention over the years thanks to footage of “doorbusting” sales where Americans trample one another in the pursuit of a bargain.

Local retailers have taken notice and are now running Black Friday sales here as well, with many of them beginning in the days leading up and continuing through the weekend all the way up to Cyber Monday.
