Apple tipped to launch new iPad on October 16

HOT off the release of its new iPhones, tech giant Apple is reportedly set to unveil a new iPad within weeks. And that’s not all it’s got in store.

TECHNOLOGY giant Apple is expected to introduce its latest iPad on October 16.

In addition to the new tablet, Apple may also introduce its latest desktop operating system OS X Yosemite and possibly a new iMac computer at the media event, the website Recode reports.

The rumblings come less than a month after Apple unveiled its new iPhones and its first iWatch.

The company sold more than 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models in the first weekend alone.

The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus sold 10 million in days.

Apple did not comment about the rumours of an imminent launch.

The Cupertino California-based company introduced its current iPad in October 2013 and sales of the gadget have been slipping.

Apple boss Tim Cook launched the iPad 3 a year ago.
