APPLE is rumoured to be testing its latest software update for iPhones, with a stunning new mode said to be on the way.
APPLE is rumoured to be testing its brand new software update for iPhones and iPads iOS 10.3.
According to those in the know, trials will begin on January 10.
As for new features, there have been several hints that Apple could be releasing a brand new cinema mode, The Sun reports.
The new “mode” should appear on the control centre and its icon will be in the shape of film lovers’ favourite snack: popcorn.
“Theatre mode” is hotly tipped to be a new way to dim your device at the touch of a button.
There are suggestions it will make watching films easier on your iPhone.
But most importantly, Apple lovers are hoping the update will bring a fix for the 30 per cent battery drainage bug that has seen iPhone 5 to iPhone 6S customers losing juice.
If Sonny Dickson, a notorious Apple leakster is correct, it could offer a one button option to both dim the screen as well as mute sound and notifications in a mega version of silent mode.

Dickson claimed the operating system is being cooked up under the code name “Erie” and should hit Apple customers by the end of the month.

SMARTPHONE SURPRISE
Sonny Dickson is yet to offer any more clues on what else Apple users can expect.
However reports have also emerged of other new software features such as an improved Apple Pencil support to go with the hardware updates.
Apple already owns a patent that describes similar software to how it’s new ‘Theatre Mode’ might work. The patent was filed four years ago and says the new mode could turn off a phone’s ringer, and prevent notifications for calls and messages.
Apple released iOS 10 in September, just before the iPhone 7 was released. iOS 10.1 was released in October and included a new feature named ‘Portrait Mode’.
In December, iOS 10.2 was introduced, featuring more than a hundred new emojis.
BATTERY ISSUES
However many users have regularly complained of battery issues with Apple’s latest operating systems.
Many users complained of rapid battery drain and how it played havoc with their device.
