‘Worst thing you can experience’: Olympian suffers frozen penis injury
A world champion runner-up has sent a chilling warning about his sport after suffering the worst injury you can experience.
A skier who suffered a frozen penis has warned others to stay away from his sport.
Calle Halfvarsson could barely put into words the “terrible” pain he felt.
The Swede spent ten minutes warming up after suffering a frozen penis during an event in Finland.
Halfvarsson was left fearing for his manhood after participating in the 20km World Cup event in Ruka, which is inside the Arctic Circle, The Sun reports.
He also revealed he is thankful he is about to welcome a second child, as he worries he might not be able to add another in the future.
After the event the 34-year-old told Expressen: “I have frozen my penis. For real. Damn, I had to lie in there [warm-up tent] for ten minutes to warm it up.
“It hurts so damn much. It’s terrible. It’s lucky that I’m going to have my second child, because this is going to be difficult in the future if I’m going to continue like this.
Asked if he could describe the pain, Halfvarsson replied: “No. Those who know, they know.
“But you should get a tip from me. Stay away from it, because it is the worst thing you can experience.”
Another skier Remi Lindholm also required treatment on his penis after suffering a freeze for the second time in his career.
Norwegian Jan Thomas Jenssen topped the podium at Sunday’s race, ahead of Czech Republic’s Michel Novák in second and teammate Harald Østberg Amundsen in third.
Halfvarsson was the first Swede across the line in 18th place.
Halfvarsson is a former 4x10km relay world championships silver medallist and has also competed in the Olympics three times — at the 2022, 2018 and 2014 Games.
More recently, Prince Harry also revealed in his autobiography that he was suffering from a frostbitten penis at his brother William’s wedding to Kate Middleton following an expedition to the North Pole in 2011, according to CNN.
