Andre Lima preserved his unbeaten status in the UFC after his rival was disqualified for biting in a rather bizarre turn of events.

However, Severino appeared to get a little too desperate to break Lima’s hold on his hands when he bit into the Brazilian’s arm.
Lima immediately gestured towards referee Chris Tognoni that Severino had bitten his arm, prompting Tognoni to pause the contest and bring in a doctor to examine Lima’s arm.
While the doctor observed the extent of the damage, Tognoni went over to Severino’s corner and let his frustrations be known in regards to the unsportsmanlike act.
The contest was soon waved off at an official time of 2:52 in the second round as Lima was handed the victory via disqualification, improving his record to 8-0 while Severino suffered his first defeat in nine fights.
Severino also stands to lose significantly more than his unblemished record, with MMA reporter Kevin Iole revealing UFC president Dana White plans to cut him.

“If you get frustrated and want out of the fight, there are plenty of ways to do it, but the worst thing u (sic) can do is bite your opponent.
“Now, you get cut and lose the biggest opportunity of your life. Not to mention, he’s going to have real problems with the NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commission).”
