Miocic hit pads with a trainer and Hunt did the same, declaring it was his first time back on the mats since his loss Fabricio Werdum at UFC 180 for the interim heavyweight title.
Aussie Hunt, 40, said Miocic would have to bring everything “including the kitchen sink” to beat him.
“He’s one of the best fighters on the planet and I respect that,” Hunt said. “But I’m the best fighter on the planet.”
“I’m going to knock him out.”
But Miocic, currently ranked fourth in the heavyweight division and one spot above Hunt, said this was a huge opportunity for him.
“Every fight is do or die and I’m looking to go in and win,” Miocic said.
Adelaide’s first UFC Fight Night marks the seventh event the world’s biggest MMA promotion has held in Australia, evidence of its growing popularity despite continued criticism of the sport’s safety.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, March 5 at 12pm through Ticketek.
Prices start at $62.90 and range up to $290.76 for the best seats in the house.
