UFC fighter Joe Proctor defeats Justin Salas with a huge haematoma on his face

THIS UFC underdog managed to win his fight today, despite the fact that he was sporting a rather large haematoma on the side of his face.

THAT looks painful.

UFC fighter Joe Proctor was not the favourite in his bout against Justin Salas in Atlantic City today. But he managed to come out on top, even after developing a massive haematoma on the side of his face.

The lump of clotted blood grew when Salas landed an effective punch near Proctor’s left ear.

The rather noticeable injury threatened to stop the fight, but after examining Proctor at the end of the first round, the official physician allowed him to carry on.

Proctor went on to win the fight in the second round, unleashing a hail of strikes which forced the referee to intervene.

“Everybody knows I like to finish with my right hand, but I was able to finish with my let hook,” Proctor said afterwards.

“I’ve been working and working on my boxing and looking for the knockout, and it finally came. I’m so happy.”

A few UFC fans failed to take Proctor’s haematoma seriously, instead poking fun at it on Twitter.

We’re sure Proctor didn't mind. He was too busy celebrating his victory.
