WHEN it comes to talking about fighting Mark Hunt pulls no punches.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight is blunt and there were no exceptions yesterday when he spoke about American opponent Stipe Miocic.

“I’m just going to knock him out,” Hunt said at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre (AEC).

“He’s one of the best fighters on the planet and I respect that, but I’m the best fighter on the planet.

“There is no secret about what I do and what I want to do.”

Hunt and Miocic met yesterday at an open workout session in Adelaide exactly 69 days before their main event battle on Sunday, May 10, at the AEC.

Hunt, 40, said Miocic would have to bring everything “including the kitchen sink” to beat him.

“I want to be moving into his spot and he'll be moving into my spot, this is how it works in the business,” he said.

“I am the best, I don’t care what it says on paper but that’s how I feel.”

Fan favourite Hunt is coming off a TKO loss to Fabricio Werdum for the interim heavyweight title at UFC 180 in November last year.

Miocic, 32, is also chasing a win after a unanimous decision loss to former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos.

But Miocic, who is ranked fourth in the heavyweight division and one spot above Hunt, is backing himself against the veteran.

“Every fight is do or die and I’m looking to go in and win,” he said.

“I want to become champion and this is a hurdle.”

But the firefighter and paramedic admits anything could happen.

“I’m here to fight but anyone can get knocked out at the end of the day, it’s what makes the sport so exciting.”

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, March 5 at midday through Ticketek.

Prices start at $63 and range up to $291 for the best seats in the house.
