WHAT a game. Blackouts, comebacks, 108-yard kickoff returns. Here are the five biggest plays of Super Bowl XLVII, where the Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers 34-31.
1. JONES' RECORD KICKOFF RETURN
It's the first play of the second half. San Francisco kick off and the Ravens' Jacoby Jones field the ball as deep as you can do it in the end zone.
Then he runs. Right up the middle, and the gates seem to open up. All of a sudden he's at the five and no one is stopping him.
108-yard touchdown to the Ravens. The lead goes out to 28-6.
2. FLACCO TO JONES
Two minutes to go in the first half. Ravens lead 14-3.
Joe Flacco sends the spiral long and Jacoby Jones finds space away from Chris Culliver, but has to wait for the ball.
When it does arrive, Jones hits the floor but isn't touched. He finds his feet, goes right and then left and demoralises Culliver for the score.
The moment caps a bad week for Culliver, who created controversy by stating he would not want a gay man on his team.
3. LIGHTS OUT
It wouldn't be a mega, memorable sporting event without a mega, memorable controversy.
Early in the third quarter, with the Ravens leading 28-6, the power went out at the New Orleans Superdome.
The players stayed out there and tried to stretch and stay warm. The cheerleaders continued their routines.
But it was more than 30 minutes before play start up again.
And when it did, it was all 49ers. The embarrassing delay was followed by an enormous momentum shift. Coincidence?
4. KAEPERNICK RUNS FOR THE TD
Colin Kaepernick, the dual threat quarterback. Just as dangerous with his legs as he is with his rocket arm.
Today, it was his legs that provided the 49ers' biggest play.
Setting a new Super Bowl record for longest touchdown run by a quarterback, Kaepernick went 15 yards to bring it back to 31-29 Ravens.
Unfortunately for 49ers fans, the two-point conversion attempt failed.
5. FLACCO TO BOLDIN
Late in the first quarter, Joe Flacco - the game's MVP - somehow evades trouble to get free on the right and launch the pill down field to Anquan Boldin, who takes the ball high above his head to keep the Ravens' drive alive.
It was 3rd and 7 and the 30-yard play saw Baltimore march up to the 49ers' 34.
With the way Flacco was able to escape the immense defensive pressure, and the good hands from Boldin, it was somewhat reminiscent of the Eli Manning to David Tyree "helmet catch". But not quite.
