Roger Federer not worrying himself with potential Bernard Tomic clash just yet

A CHEEKY Roger Federer was more interested in trying Melbourne's restaurants than watching potential opponent Bernard Tomic in action last night.

A CHEEKY Roger Federer appeared more interested in trying one of Melbourne's hot restaurants than watching potential opponent Bernard Tomic in action last night.

The pair continue to shadow box and ahead of their seemingly inevitable third-round clash, which is looming as the highlight of the first week of the Australian Open.

After cruising through his first round assignment last night, Tomic admitted it was hard not to think ahead to the mouth-watering match up.

"It's difficult," the young Australian said.

But it seems he is the only one pondering the match up.

The relaxed Swiss legend was undecided last night when asked whether he was going to stay in and study Tomic.

"Is he playing first? Second? I don't know," Federer said.

"I haven't got my plan yet for tonight, my dinner plans.

"I saw a bit of Lleyton (Hewitt) the other day but decided at the end I'd rather go out with my friends and have dinner and hopefully come back for the fifth set.

"That never happened, unfortunately.

"So (with Tomic) I don't know – we'll see."

Tomic has never beaten Federer in three attempts.

Only once, in a 2011 Davis Cup tie, has Tomic won a set against the Fed Express.
