Nick Kyrgios involved in heated exchange with opponent after clashing with fans at ATP event in Acapulco
ON a dramatic day for Australian tennis, Nick Kyrgios has become involved in a heated clash with his opponent and fans in Mexico.
NICK Kyrgios became involved in a heated exchange with opponent Dudi Sela after clashing with the Israeli’s fans during a first-round win at the ATP event in Acapulco.
On a dramatic day for Australian tennis following Bernard Tomic’s controversial mid-match retirement in Mexico, Kyrgios came from a set down to beat world No.75 Sela 3-6 6-3 6-3 on Wednesday.
But Kyrgios was at his most combustible, at one stage telling fans to “shut the f*** up” as he was trying to serve.
The tensions continued after the match when Kyrgios appeared to mockingly wave at some of Sela’s most vocal supporters from his chair.

Nick Kyrgios wins too. Good comeback and very cold handshake with Sela in the end.

Things got awkward when Sela stepped in, confronting Kyrgios and the pair appeared to argue.
Kyrgios’ latest controversy comes after he blasted a chair umpire as “biased as s***” during last week’s Marseille Open.
Kyrgios will next face Donald Young in Mexico. American Young progressed after Tomic bizarrely retired after the first set of their match due to heat exhaustion, only to return two hours later for a doubles match.
It was mostly a happy occasion for Kyrgios on Wednesday as he watched his girlfriend, fellow Aussie player Ajla Tomljanovic, return from injury in spectacular fashion with a straight sets win over Eugenie Bouchard at the Mexican WTA event.
This was the best thing that I've seen in a long long time https://t.co/PHRzvtkE9E
