Russell Crowe, girlfriend, turn heads as stars roll in for Aussie Open final

The stars rolled in for the Australian Open women’s final with fans spotting Russell Crowe’s rare display of emotion.

Russell Crowe and girlfriend Britney Theriot turned heads at the Australian Open on Saturday night as stars rolled in to watch the women’s singles final.

Fans and celebrities were treated to one of the best matches of the tournament as Aryna Sabalenka triumphed over Elena Rybakina and the emotional rollercoaster got the better of plenty in the crowd.

Crowe, 58, was one of many to be caught up in the nailbiting contest as he showed appreciation for the level of tennis unfolding on the court.

The Hollywood star and Theriot looked all loved up sitting next to each other earlier in the evening, watching on from a VIP section inside the iconic stadium.

Countless other faces in the crowd were even more invested than Crowe with one mystery woman shown repeatedly on the TV broadcast on the edge of a nervous breakdown as she watched Sabalenka serve out the match.

The woman was seen on Channel 9 riding every swing of the racquet before Sabalenka finally reached the finish line on her fourth match point.

Aussie entertainer Sophie Monk was also in attendance, getting plenty of attention in an eye-catching outfit.

The Love Island host was seen in a daring white top as she stepped out with husband Joshua Gross.

Australian Open organisers said actor Hugh Sheridan, model Kris Smith and Silvana Philippoussis were also in attendance on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Indian veteran Rohan Bopanna is happily admitting his wife stole the show in the mixed doubles final on Friday.

Bopanna was playing in Indian trailblazer Sania Mirza’s final grand slam match — 22 years after the pair first played together — when fans noticed his wife in the stands.

He responded to one fan’s post on Twitter describing his wife Supriya Annaiah as “the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen”.

Mirza and 42-year-old Bopanna were unable to get over the line, losing 7-6 (7/2), 6-2 to Brazilian pair Luisa Stefani and Rafael Matos.
