Collingwood midfielder Adam Treloar 'broken-hearted' by trade saga
Collingwood midfielder Adam Treloar has been left "broken-hearted" by an ongoing trade dispute with the Magpies.
Collingwood midfielder Adam Treloar has been left "broken-hearted" by the ongoing trade dispute with the Magpies, according to Herald Sun journalist Jon Ralph.
Treloar was thrown into the trade rumour mill when it was revealed his wife Kim Ravaillion would resume her netball career with the Queensland Firebirds in the Super Netball competition.
However, the 27-year-old emphatically shut down those rumours, saying he wanted to remain in the black and white jumper.
Treloar is contracted with Collingwood until the end of the 2025 season and is set to earn $900,000 in 2021, but he was reportedly left “incredibly frustrated” to learn the Pies don’t want him there next season.
“People close to him say that he is broken-hearted,” Ralph told Fox Footy’s Trading Day.
“He just feels like as much as he might have to stay at Collingwood if the Bulldogs withdraw their interest and that medical has not yet come through despite the meeting, he just can’t see any way in which he’ll be there, given the way that the club has treated him.
“I think Collingwood just has to get him out."
St Kilda champion Leigh Montagna said it would be a bad look if Treloar remained at Collingwood next season.
“There’s no way the Collingwood Football Club could try and save face with Adam Treloar walking back through the door.
“Adam might be able to (return), it depends on his character and whether he could handle it. His teammates still love him there, he’d still get a game and he’d still play good footy. But I don’t think Collingwood could have him back."
