Check out their best and value bets:
ROYAL RANDWICK
RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph) Form: 562x3
FASIKA (Race 7, No.7 — $2.60)
Fasika is a brilliant mare who races well fresh and is very effective at Randwick where she runs her best races. Primed for her Missile Stakes return with two recent trials including an impressive win in a Warwick Farm heat. Likely leader and can control the tempo to suit. She’s the one to beat.
Value bet: NIKOHLI BEAGLE (Race 9, No.12 — $13)
MATT JONES (Daily Telegraph) Form: x1x18
MORE PROPHETS (Race 6, No.4 — $5.50)
She’s a stakes-grade mare who never runs poorly first-up and off some good trials she’s ready to fire again fresh.
Value bet: SAVVY CROWN (Race 10, No.5 — $9.50)
SHAYNE O’CASS (Daily Telegraph) Form: 932x2
KINGSHEIR (Race 10, No.11 — $4.60)
A high-quality import from the Team Hawkes stable who sent out some positive signs at his first Australian campaign. Could not have been any more impressive in his trials. Get the sense he could be in better races very soon.
Value bet: MAZU (Race 8, No.2 — $8)
CLINTON PAYNE (Racenet) Form: 25383
FASIKA (Race 7, No.7) and REMARQUE (Race 8, No.3) Multi — $8.30
Fasika looks perfectly placed to make a winning return while Remarque has always been very highly regarded and he’s trialled up like a horse ready to go on with the job. Both horses will take a power of beating on Saturday. Back them both and you can get $8 or better for the multi which is attractive.
Value bet: RE EDIT (Race 4, No.7 — $7.50)
JETT HATTON (Racenet) Form: 514x3
RE EDIT (Race 4, No.7 — $7.50)
Chris Waller seems to have found the key to Re Edit, keeping her fresh and at the mile. While this isn’t 1600m, it’s close enough and we liked the way she trialled in preparation for this. Re Edit was a certainty beaten first-up last preparation in the Inglis Bracelet on Oaks Day, a race much tougher than an off season Benchmark 78 and she’ll appreciate the expected firm surface on Saturday.
Value bet: CHAT (Race 7, No.6 — $9.00)
LATEST BETTING: TAB FIXED ODDS
FLEMINGTON
BRAD WATERS (Racenet) Form: 55x65
LINDHOUT (Race 4, No.7 — $2.70)
Gave a massive start but only just fell short at Flemington last time. Senior rider goes back on and she’ll be harder to hold out this time.
Value bet: MILTON PARK (Race 5, No.9 — $18)
GILBERT GARDINER (Herald Sun) Form: 34293x
SHARP RESPONSE (Race 2, No.1 — $4.60)
Two wins and a second behind Jigsaw reads well for this assignment.
Value bet: KING OF HASTINGS (Race 8, No.9 — $10)
CHRIS VERNUCCIO (Racing News Editor) Form: 51285
LINDHOUT (Race 4, No.7 — $2.70)
Settled too far back last start and should have won, but with Craig Newitt back on board he’ll be in a position to strike.
Value bet: MISS ALBANIA (Race 5, No.15 — $8)
GLENN McFARLANE (Herald Sun) Form: 41331
HOSIER (Race 7, No.7 — $1.80)
Impossible not to be impressed with the three Australians wins (by a collective 13 lengths) achieved by this improving son of Camelot.
Value bet: GRINZINGER ALLEE (Race 9, No.7 — $4.80)
SIMON MOY (NewsRacing) Form: x5741
HOSIER (Race 7, No.7 — $1.80)
Going for four in a row. Gets the perfect run from the inside gate and looks the goods to do it again.
Value bet: THE ASTROLOGIST (Race 8, No.5 — $4.40)
NICK QUINN (TAB) Form: x2732
OXLEY ROAD (Race 5, No.2 — $4.20)
He looked well above average winning his first two career starts and has the upside to resume with a win. He burst onto the scene with an effortless debut victory up the Flemington straight and franked that performance by winning the Group 3 Zeditave Stakes at just his second career start.
Value bet: ZORRO’S DREAM (Race 3, No.3 — $9.50)
DOOMBEN
TRENTON AKERS (Courier Mail) Form: 318x1
WHAM (Race 5, No.2 — $3.60)
Former Victorian galloper looks to be loving life in Toowoomba, now trained by Lindsay Hatch where he bolted in at his new home track last month. Steps up in grade here but appears to have untapped upside since moving north to Hatch who is lethal when taking horses into town.
Value bet: PRIORITISE (Race 2, No.2 — $21)
NATHAN EXELBY (Sky Racing) Form: 918x1
TRAMONTO (Race 3, No.5 — $2.90)
Measured up to stakes class through the carnival, putting a string of good performances together. Has had 63 days since we last saw him, but if he’s anywhere near that level of form, he will be too good for these. Barrier means he gets every possible chance.
Value bet: ZIEMBA (Race 4, No.5 — $7.00)
