Check out their best and value bets:
FLEMINGTON
BRAD WATERS (Racenet) Form: 11333
IN THE CONGO (Race 7, No.4 – $4.20)
Quality colt that showed a lot of heart to beat subsequent Caulfield Guineas winner Anamoe in the Golden Rose and the drop back to 1200m won’t worry him.
Value bet: SUPERSTORM (Race 8, No.3 – $12)
GILBERT GARDINER (Herald Sun) Form: 2541s
MR BRIGHTSIDE (Race 8, No.14 – $4.40)
Not many horses win six on the bounce anywhere, but this one is about to make it seven.
Value bet: JUNGLE MAGNATE (Race 6, No.7 – $18)
CHRIS VERNUCCIO (Racing News Editor) Form: 11112
EXTREME WARRIOR (Race 7, No.9 — $4.40)
High rating win in the Blue Sapphire, he’s at the peak of his prep whereas his key rivals – In The Congo, Paulele and Artorius – are at the back end. And the rest of the Melbourne form has been substandard.
Value bet: APACHE CHASE (Rosehill, Race 7, No.4 — $7)
GLENN McFARLANE (Herald Sun) Form: 12111
GREAT HOUSE (Race 2, No.4 – $2.60)
Will only run if not already guaranteed a start on Tuesday, but finds an easy Lexus here after huge runs in Metropolitan and Caulfield Cup.
Value bet: I’M THUNDERSTRUCK (Race 7, No.2 – $3.70)
SIMON MOY (NewsRacing) Form: 20s12
PAULELE (Race 7, No.6 – $7)
Monstered them late in Roman Consul Stakes and seems to be building to something special.
Value bet: STILL A STAR (Race 5, No.5 – $10)
NICK QUINN (TAB) Form: 12411
OXLEY ROAD (Race 4, No.7 – $3.20)
Emerging sprinter from the Peter Moody barn who knuckled down strongly to win the Group 2 Caulfield Sprint last start and looks well placed to win again.
Value bet: BALLISTIC LOVER (Race 9, No.9 – $8)
JETT HATTON (Racenet) Form: 11716
TOFANE (Race 5, No.3 – $3.50)
Tofane has been very good to me over the years and she can add another Group 1 in Saturday’s Empire Rose Stakes. There were some questions whether she would run out a strong mile but those have been answered this prep. Drawn to get the gun run and well placed under weight-for-age conditions – Tofane looks hard to beat.
Value bet: AEGON (Rosehill, Race 7, No.3 – $26)
LATEST BETTING: TAB FIXED ODDS
ROSEHILL
MATT JONES (Daily Telegraph) Form: 411x3
ICE IN VANCOUVER (Race 3 No.2 – $5)
This horse needs to be winning this race now after not getting the job done of late when well supported. This set up is much better though and the stable feels he should be winning.
Value bet: ALL MACHIAVELLIAN (Race 4, No.13 – $31)
SHAYNE O’CASS (Daily Telegraph) Form: 6222x
DIFFERENT STROKES (Race 4, No.4 – $4)
is a worthy favourite here starting with his record (6:3-2-1) and more so given that he is untapped and wildly progressive. The Kim Waugh-trained gelding is potentially, nah probably, the most talented horse in the Four Pillars but my only niggle is barrier one. That might sound crazy. maybe it is, but this is a big money 18-horse field and you just don’t want him boxed in. He needs room.
Value bet: SIGNORE FOX (Race 6, No.11 – $34)
EAGLE FARM
TRENTON AKERS (Courier Mail) Form: 16411
REFERO (Race 4, No.4 – $1.85)
Plenty of upside in this gelding and has been well handled by Tony Gollan. Returns after an eye-catching win over highly rated Enterprise Pomme on the Sunshine Coast and looks well above this lot.
Value bet: ZOUSON BOY (Race 3, No.4 – $10)
NATHAN EXELBY (Sky Racing) Form: 5140x
REFERO (Race 4, No.4 – $1.85)
Showed potential in debut prep and looks to have come back a better horse going on the demolition job first up at Caloundra. They aren’t giving much away at the price, but it looks a thin race with Stellar Magic seemingly the only one to beat and he will be in front of her in the run.
Value bet: CONFIDANT (Race 5, No.1 – $14)
s – denotes tip was scratched.
x – denotes spell or holiday.
