WA jockey William Pike breaks wrist after falling off e-scooter
Western Australia’s leading jockey William Pike is set for a lengthy stint on the sidelines after breaking his wrist in an e-scooter fall.
Perth’s summer carnival has lost it’s biggest star with William Pike ruled out for up to eight weeks.
TAB radio is reporting that Western Australia’s leading jockey had a tumble from an e-scooter on Monday and as a result, broke his wrist.

It continues an injury-riddled 2024 campaign for the “Wizard Of The West”, who missed significant time at the start of the year after breaking his heel in a freak accident at home.
Pike struck out in the three Group 1 contests across Ascot’s carnival but did boot home Storyville to victory in the Group 3 Champion Fillies Stakes and Group 2 WA Guineas.
He currently sits atop of the Australian jockey premiership on 81.5 winners with Blake Shinn next best on 68.
Fellow West Australian hoop Chris Parnham is third on 67 for the season and will no doubt make the most of Pike’s absence.
