Victoria’s hot weather on Monday has had a knock-on effect on the schedules of some of the state’s top gallopers.

Racing Victoria postponed Monday’s Geelong program for 24 hours in the wake of forecast temperatures in the low to mid-40s for the state.

The race meeting’s move to Tuesday forced the trials set down for that day to be delayed until Wednesday morning.

The 14 trials will feature some top performers early in the session, including star miler Mr Brightside.

Mr Brightside will continue his build-up towards his racing return in next month’s Group 1 CF Orr Stakes at Geelong after a soft third in a Werribee jumpout on January 17.

The dual Doncaster Mile winner will appear in the second heat alongside million-dollar earner Arabian Summer and Group 2 Moonee Valley Vase winner Red Aces.

Group 1-winning stayer Warmonger is an acceptor in the first heat of the morning alongside Caulfield Guineas runner-up Feroce.

Top jumper Stern Idol will also trial in the opening heat.

VRC Oaks winner Treasurethe Moment will step out in the third trial.

Treasurethe Moment won her last four starts in the spring, culminating with her maiden Group 1 triumph last November.

Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes winner Too Darn Discreet will also trial as will promising three-year-old Opening Address, who won a Listed race at Flemington at his last outing.

Here To Shock, the last-start winner of the $1m Supernova at Pakenham last month, is also down to trial in the third heat.
