Lindsay Park colt Neverenoughlego out to boost Blue Diamond credentials at The Valley on Saturday
Lindsay Park could bolster its Blue Diamond arsenal on Saturday at The Valley with Neverenoughlego favourite in the 1200m Two-Year-Old Handicap.
Lindsay Park could bolster its Blue Diamond arsenal on Saturday at The Valley with Neverenoughlego favourite in the 1200m Two-Year-Old Handicap.
A well-named son of Ole Kirk – Danish carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen founded the construction toy company Lego in 1932 – Neverenoughlego could join Group 3 colt Tycoon Star and explosive Miss Celine, a brilliant Listed Debutant Stakes victor, on the Blue Diamond path.
Trainers Ben, JD and Will Hayes lead Victorian trainers for two-year-old winners this season with four, including multiple stakes-placed city winner Shining Smile and Hello Romeo.

“I am a Lego fan, I do love it,” Will Hayes said.
“Typical of Price Bloodstock horses (he is) very well named as Ole Kirk is the inventor of Lego and that’s why he got that name, Neverenoughlego.”
Neverenoughlego clashed with the exciting Godolphin colt Aleppo Pine on debut at Ballarat.
While Aleppo Pine cruised to an easy 2.5 length win, runner-up Neverenoughlego finished the 1100m Two-Year-Old Open Handicap with gusto.
“He’s tightened up nicely from that run at Ballarat, we freshened him and what not and he’s going to be very hard to beat on Saturday,” Hayes said.
“With the two-year-old program you guarantee you will run into a good one (like Aleppo Pine) on the Saturdays, but we’ve been really happy with how he’s done between runs.
“I did love the way he presented (in the straight), I think he probably peaked 50m-100m out but still found the line nicely, but he’s improved.
“He’s a ready now horse, it’s amazing how quick it comes around (Blue Diamond series), he’ll be fit and ready.”

The 1200m on Saturday at The Valley should be ideal.
“You never know until you know (handling The Valley) but from what we’ve seen he’s not an erratic horse,” Hayes said.
“He gives every indication that he should handle it but hindsight is going to be 20-20 on that one.”
Neverenoughlego is a $5 favourite with Ladbrokes from Field Of Play ($6), Regor ($7), Tsavo ($8), Tom ($8.50), Green Spaces ($8.50) and Jenni Gone Bonkers ($9.50).
Lindsay Park has kept Night Flash ($13) in the field after the Harry Angel colt was withdrawn from a 1000m Two-Year-Old race at Mornington on Friday.
Stablemate Regor has trialled up nicely for a debut performance but could be saved for the Geelong Diamond (1100m) on January 4 to separate the Lindsay Park trio.
“We’re going to closely look at the race and might head to Geelong,” Hayes said.
“We’re probably tossing up between splitting him (Regor) and Lego but we’ll have a team discussion closer to the race.
“We quite like them and we’d rather try and win two races than one.”
Lindsay Park has seven acceptors at The Valley including Just For Show, a $2.60 favourite in the Vobis Gold Carat (1200m).
