Brad Waters outlines his six horses to follow from last week’s Victorian jumpouts
Flemington took centre stage during Melbourne Cup Week but several runners showed they were capable of winning soon at the week’s Victorian jumpouts and trials.
Racenet form analyst Brad Waters has taken a look at the Victorian trials and jumpouts held in the last seven days and found six runners for punters to follow in the coming weeks.
You can use Racenet’s free blackbook service and we’ll email you when these horses are due to race.
JUMPOUT/TRIAL OF THE WEEK:
ERSA (Pakenham jumpouts – November 6)
Ersa raced honestly without winning in the autumn but might be ready to break through again this time in. The Lindsay Park-trained mare moved well, tracking the leader throughout the heat. The daughter of Lonhro looked to be travelling very easily, looking poised to quicken at any moment. She looks to have come back well as a four-year-old mare.
MISS ROUMBINI (Cranbourne jumpouts – November 4)
Miss Roumbini enjoyed an impressive winter campaign, winning two of three runs back a spell. Trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr have brought Miss Roumbini back for a late spring preparation. The four-year-old was allowed to relax a fair way off the speed but hit the line stylishly under no pressure. Her action looked good as she quickened, and she looked set for another winning preparation.

PLAYLIST (Cranbourne jumpouts – November 4)
The well-bred Playlist is closely related to the dual Group 1 winner English by Pride of Jenni’s sire Pride Of Dubai. The Grahame Begg-trained filly won her first jumpout at Cranbourne on October 21 before looking even sharper in her latest hitout. The smooth-moving filly showed good natural speed to lead before quickening easily in the last 200m, comfortably winning the heat. She looks to have ability.
CLEAN REEF (Pakenham jumpouts – November 6)
Clean Reef finished third in two city runs in the winter but has had more time to develop. The Lindsay Park-trained filly impressed with her first jumpout this time, showing good pace to lead the heat by a good margin with little effort. She wasn’t asked for any effort in the straight, but her action looked smooth to the line. She’ll continue to improve.
MISTER MIRACLE (Wangaratta trials – November 7)The New Zealand-bred Mister Miracle is a half-brother to the Kiwi stakes winner Maritimo and looks to have ability in his own right. Mister Miracle relaxed in behind runners until halfway down the straight before his rider eased him into clear running. The son of Super Seth lengthened stride smoothly once clear at the 150m, closing well on the trial winner late. He looks ready to debut.
ZORRO’S FLIGHT (Bendigo jumpouts – November 8)
Trainers Patrick and Michelle Payne have not produced Zorro’s Flight at the races but his jumpouts have been promising. The Toronado gelding comfortably led his latest hitout on the rail to the home turn. Zorro’s Flight’s rider never moved on the three-year-old on the straight, but he held his lead on rivals that were ridden along in the last 200m. He looked to have something in hand and could be worth following when he gets to the races.
