Triple Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Glen Boss won’t return to Sydney after his latest trip to Melbourne.

Boss has decided to resume riding full-time in Melbourne.

Boss received permission to travel to Melbourne for the remainder of the Melbourne Spring Carnival but has decided to make his stay permanent.

Boss rode in full-time in Melbourne before heading to Singapore in 2016 but chose Sydney as his base when he returned to Australian racing in 2019.

The high-profile jockey has decided to return to Melbourne for family reasons.

A desire to be closer to their two children was the main reason he and wife Sloane decided to move south.

Boss’s first step back into the Melbourne jockey ranks will be at Saturday’s Cox Plate meeting at The Valley.

Boss has won the Cox Plate four times, including last year on the ill-fated Sir Dragonet.
