This is the opinion of form guru Gary Crispe who said on Timeform ratings, Attrition and Lindermann should fight out the finish of the rich Rosehill race.

The Mitchell Freedman-trained Attrition rated 119 winning the Group 2 Hill Stakes over 1900m at Rosehill last start.

Lindermann, trained by Chris Waller, returned to near his best winning the Craven Plate over 1800m at Randwick, returning a 115 Timeform figure.

“Attrition is the horse to beat,’’ Crispe declared.

“He hasn’t raced since the Hill Stakes a month ago but has had a barrier trial at Camperdown between runs.

“I don’t think are any worries about his fitness, he should get every favour from barrier five and his weight-for-age form is very good.’’

With the scratching of Docklands on Thursday, Attrition is into $6.50 equal favouritism with TAB Fixed Odds for the Five Diamonds alongside Territory Express. Lindermann is pressing for favouritism at $7.

“Lindermann was good in the Craven Plate and he’s third-up in the Five Diamonds so I think he has improvement to come,’’ Crispe said.

“He has a great record at Rosehill where he has won three of his four starts and he’s the main danger to Attrition. Those two standout in this race.’’

Crispe said Territory Express was an improving horse who should appreciate getting out to 1800m.

“It was hard to miss Territory Express’ run in the Prelude, he hit the line very strongly,’’ Crispe said.

“The step up in trip shouldn’t worry him and he’s right in this race.’’
