San Domenico meeting transferred from Rosehill to Kembla Grange
Rosehill has lost another meeting because of Sydney’s Covid-19 outbreak with the San Domenico Stakes transferred to another venue.
San Domenico Stakes day is the latest meeting that will call Kembla Grange home in 2021 after Racing NSW was forced to move the August 28 raceday away from Rosehill due to Sydney’s worsening Covid-19 outbreak.
Racing NSW announced the decision on Wednesday on the back of news of a state record 633 new locally acquired Covid-19 cases.
It is the second meeting this month to be transferred to the Illawarra Turf Club following last Saturday’s transferred Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes day.
The Group 3 San Domenico Stakes (1100m) is a crucial stepping stone for three-year-olds heading to races like the Golden Rose and is set to feature the likes of Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside and Kiwi gun Sword Of State.
The feature is supported by the Group 3 Ming Dynasty Quality (1400m) and Group 3 Premier’s Cup (2000m).
As a result of the move, Kembla’s provincial meeting on the same day will be moved to Goulburn.
