KENSINGTON INSIDE MAIL

RACE 1: 2YO HANDICAP (1400m)

IS IT SPECTACULAR (1) raced outside the leader when too good for Gaeilge and Just A Journey when resuming in 1300m Warwick Farm maiden. Stepped up to the Group 1 Champagne Stakes when 10th to Nepotism. RIPLEY (6) had some difficulty getting a clear run early in the straight when third to Secure on debut at Canterbury. JENNI GONE BONKERSS (12) closed nicely for a half-length second to Just A Journey at Kembla.

BET: IS IT SPECTACULAR each-way.

RACE 2: 2YO HANDICAP (1400m)

INQUISITOR (4) is a debutant by Snitzel from a half-sister to Group 1 winner Appearance. Has been very impressive in closing strongly in both trials. COLD GIN (11) held up in the straight when sixth to Perle De Chocolat at Warwick Farm. Took on the three-year-olds last start when second to Big Red Tequila at Canterbury. HEREWARD (1) was good on debut when second to Aerodrome after leading in the Clarendon at Hawkesbury.

BET: INQUISTOR to win.

RACE 3: MAIDEN PLATE (1400m)

CHARLEROI (1) went back and kept three-wide from the outside gate when third to Maori Chief in a 1250m Super Maiden here on Apr 25. Drawn to get lovely run and the 1400m will suit. SHE REX (9) resumed with a third to Engine Room at Warwick Farm before a third to Convergent here last start. KUNDABUNG (2) was first-up from a long spell when runner-up to Damien over 1200m at Newcastle on Apr 12. Nice trial since.

BET: CHARLEROI to win.

RACE 4: BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1250m)

BEOUR BAY (2) overraced out three-wide without cover but kept coming when fourth to Excess at The Valley on Apr 26. Sat midfield and closed strongly down the outside to beat Laurel Hill at her only run here in January. CRUEL SUMMER (1) scored a nice win from Brave One on a Heavy 8 at Canterbury last start. Chance from barrier one again. ICONIC TREASURE (4) has changed stables since his third to The Great Houdini here on Apr 25.

BET: BEOUR BOY to win.

RACE 5: MARES BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1250m)

HELLBENT ON YOU (2) resumed with a narrow but handy win from Formal at Hawkesbury before a long head third to Seascape here and a nose second to Candlewick over 1200m at Warwick Farm. Drawn well and will be prominent. CALIFORNIA SUNRISE (6) sat back and wide before running on for third behind Tuned when resuming at Warwick Farm on Apr 2. Keep safe.

BET: HELLBENT ON YOU to win.

RACE 6: 3YO BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP (1300m)

KILKENNY (13) took improvement from her first-up fourth behind Engine Room over 1300m with an eight length win from Flying Chevrolet over 1500m at Kembla. Back to 1300m. CANARA (8) resumed with a closing second to Written In Code on Mar 13 before charging home for a nose second to Mogul Monarch here two weeks later. Back in grade from her tenth to Sergeant Major in the Listed South Pacific at Randwick. MAORI CHIEF (4) was a smart winner over 1250m here last start.

BET: KILKENNY to win.

RACE 7: BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1800m)

SWELTER (7) scored a narrow win Imposing pier at Hawkesbury before jumping up in grade when eighth to Belle Detelle in the Group 3 Adrian Knox. GOLDEN SMILE (8) placed her first three runs back from a spell before breaking through for a three-length maiden win from Tempranillo at Newcastle. Drawn well and a big chance again. TENNIEL (6) scored a nice win from Kenmare Bay on a heavy track at Newcastle before a ninth to Maison Louis on a good track at Canterbury.

BET: SWELTER to win.

RACE 8: BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1800m)

SACRO CATINO (3) resumed with a narrow win from Dark Stratum in a Super Maiden at Warwick Farm on Apr 16 before a three-quarter-length second to Ahuriri at Canterbury. TEMPRANILLO (11) boxed on for a length second to Sisu Spirit when resuming at Newcastle on Apr 12 before returning three weeks later for a safely held second to Golden Smile. Tackles a BM64 while still a maiden but will make her presence felt. KENMARE BAY (7) has claims on his three seconds to start his campaign.

BET: SACRO CATINO each-way.

RACE 9: BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP (1400m)

SYDNEY BOWLER (14) battled away when fourth to Written In Code when resuming at Hawkesbury before a coming from last at the 400m and being held up until the 200m when a 1½-length fifth behind Thunderlips here last start. FURIOUS (4) was held up for clear running early in the straight when fourth to Step Aside when resuming at Randwick on Apr 26. LITTLE COINTREAU (7) has been right behind the placegetters in both runs back from a spell. Is a winner this track and distance.

BET: SYDNEY BOWLER to win.
