RANDWICK

Track: Good 4. Rail: +5m

RACE 1: CLUBSNSW WESTERN METROPOLITAN (1400M)

Overview: Open race. Diamonds’n’stones ran into the headwind fresh and I thought he did a good job to hold on for fourth. The drier track and 1400m are both positives here. Toomuchtobear was too good for Mr Brightside at Bendigo last start and that horse has won two races since in good fashion. He just needs luck from the wide draw. Larkspur Run looks a bit short for mine on a wet track win on the right part of the track last start.

BETTING ADVICE: Diamonds’n’stones to win.

RACE 2: CLIFF CLARE HANDICAP (2400M)

Overview: Harpo Marx looks vulnerable here with 62.5kg on his back at 2400m and he is way too short in betting for mine. Arabolini might need a wet track but he did beat Harpo Marx home last start and has to be respected. Pecuniary Interest is the one they’ve backed early and he has 2400m form and no weight.

BETTING ADVICE: Arabolini and Pecuniary Interest both run well at odds.

TAB Market Update - Missile Stakes

RACE 3: TAB HIGHWAY CLASS 3 PLATE (1800M)

Overview: Similar Highway to a few weeks ago. Dream Runner looks to be the horse to beat but he is short enough considering the wide draw. Zoo Station had no luck late in that same race last start but she is likely to get a long way back from the gate here. Bold And Wild did too much work on speed last start and just has to see out 1800m now, while So Say You has to be included off the last start win.

BETTING ADVICE: Leaning to Dream Runner.

RACE 4: BILLY CAMER HANDICAP (1500M)

Overview: Open race. Loveplanet was good fresh and he does profile as a nice horse. I can’t get him that short in betting but I concede he is likeable in this. Re Edit has a good fresh record and she is the one I think the market will dismiss late. Matowatakpe also has claims at each way odds on another dry track, while Invinciano will get to the front and give them something to catch.

BETTING ADVICE: Open race. Hoping Re Edit blows to $10+ late.

RACE 5: MIDWAY HANDICAP (1800M)

Overview: Open race. Bazooka was really good from the back last start and now he just has to run out 1800m and needs luck from the wide draw. Gemmahra was solid last start behind Invinciano and this sets up OK here.

BETTING ADVICE: Gemmahra can run well at odds.

RACE 6: RAY SELKRIG HANDICAP (1200M)

Overview: Open race. Starla has appreciated getting back on to dry tracks and she is a great chance again here if she lines up in this race. More Prophets was good fresh last prep when making ground in the wrong part of the track and then she was a touch disappointing after that. The dry track helps her. Eight Diamonds didn’t appreciate the wet track last start and will be hoping for a more genuinely run race as she overraced last start.

BETTING ADVICE: Starla and More Prophets will have admirers but there are plenty of hopes here.

RACE 7: MISSILE STAKES (1200M)

Overview: Hard to tip against Fasika and she should find the front and give them something to catch. I’m not sure the good track will be her cup of tea but that’s the only concern. She did win on a good track first-up last prep but that played like a soft track that day and Saturday will be much drier. Kolding is the class runner but will he give Fasika too much of a head start from the gate? Phobetor next pick.

BETTING ADVICE: Fasika on top.

RACE 8: THE ROSEBUD (1100M)

Overview: Not a bad edition of the Rosebud here. I wish it was 1200m but In The Congo is going great guns and he can either lead or sit just off them and should be in the finish. Remarque still has the boom on him from last season. He can win but I think he is being priced a touch on potential compared to what he has actually done at this stage. Maotai and Mazu will have admirers as well.

BETTING ADVICE: In The Congo to win.

RACE 9: LITTLE WINGS HANDICAP (1100M)

Overview: The two Godolphin horses interest me here in Enfluerage and Destination. Enfluerage is off a long break but she has trialled well and none of these could beat Big Parade. Her run down in Melbourne was also good two preps back. Destination gets his chance to stand up here on dry ground and he easily defeated Sixgun over 1100m back in the Heritage a little while back. Hulk next best.

BETTING ADVICE: Enfluerage and Destination to win.

RACE 10: ATC THANK YOU JOCKEYS HANDICAP (1300M)

Overview: Kingsheir is off a long break here but he gets in light and he has found the line well at the trials. The obvious concern with him is missing the kick and he has a bad habit of that. He should be strong late though. Starla has claims if she lines up here, while Academy has been trialling well and Handspun should appreciate the extra trip.

BETTING ADVICE: Kingsheir to win.
