TAMWORTH
BEST BET
Race 6 No. 8: Supertrail
Was expected to win by his trainer Brett Cavanough and most punters at Muswellbrook and it was never in doubt. Very progressive horse.
NEXT BEST
Race 2 No. 5: Eighty Eight Stars
Place at four of his six starts, three of those were seconds. Costly but might pay off this time.
VALUE BET
Race 5 No. 4: Uncaged
Only won one from 16 but has so much more depth to his form than any of his rivals.
QUADDIE
Race 5: 4, 5
Race 6: 8
Race 7: 1, 3
Race 8: 3, 10
JOCKEY TO FOLLOW
Aaron Bullock will be as popular as ever in the TAB Jockey Challenge.

BEST BET
Race 2 No. 4: Discretions
Tipped out after that debut win at Ballina in the winter. Trialled well again ahead of the return.
NEXT BEST
Race 6 No. 4: Honourable
Winless after 14 starts but there was a lot to like about his last run at Taree.
VALUE BET
Race 8 No. 7: Taikun Tommy
Doesn’t win out of the turn but put that down mostly to pattern and this is not a strong.
INSIDE MAIL - TAMWORTH
RACE 5
Uncaged has one win and two thirds from a total of 16 starts which doesn’t sound too flash but he has run a handful of fourths, one of them was behind Espiona - wow. The Kristen Buchanan-trained gelding has a wide draw but a good jockey to navigate the way home and what’s more, he was pretty good first-up in a crazy strong Class 1. Avalicious has finished on the podium at 10 of her 23 starts. Granted only two of them were wins but she went within a whisker of getting it done at Dubbo last start. Dynastic wasn’t far behind her that day.
Bet: Uncaged to win, quinella 4, 5
RACE 6
Supertrail is a rare horse for the sole reason that both his sire, So You Think, and dam, Amelie’s Star, ran in a Melbourne Cup. This guy did a Might And Power job on his rivals when he made his NSW/Brett Cavanough stable debut in a 1500m maiden on Sep 12. One word for him - progressive. Joshua led throughout and bolted in himself at the first run for Clint Lundholm. Faded rather badly at the one after that but he has a lovely draw for this.
Bet: Supertrail to win, exacta 8 to beat 4
RACE 7
Sumptuary is one for the breeding buffs with a double dose of Snippets. This Paul Messara-trained mare has raced five times for three wins and two thirds and while she was expected and entitled to win first-up, she was very good to the eye and the clock. Pyramid Fire has been very costly in his time. No doubt he will lure a few punters in again and you can see why given he has barrier 1 and has won two of his last three starts. Stablemate Scarzel has claims.
Bet: Sumptuary to win
RACE 8
Bijara maybe didn’t see out 1400m at Armidale back on September 9. She won here at home first-up before that over 1200m - easily too. She is another one of these Cody Morgan-trained horses that excel at the home track. Bit to like about her. Star On Fire is a really quick horse. His already bright prospects of winning went up when he drew so well. Forbidden Gemstone has only won once in eight starts but that win was second-up and over a vaguely similar trip as this one.
Bet: Bijara to win

RACE 5
Enterprise Lucia has raced four times for two placings and two fourths. She has run in four strong races including that last one where she led and was nailed on the line by Headley Grange at Grafton. She wouldn’t have to improve much at all on that or most other runs to be in the finish here. Ausbred Yahoo remains winless after 11 starts but he has finished runner-up three times, twice here, and one of those was an inch behind Agirlsbestfriend. Avoid Me bumped into an above average horse in a very, very fast run race last start.
Bet: Enterprise Lucia to win, exacta 14 to beat 5
RACE 6
Honourable is yet to win in 14 starts but this might be the day. The Brett Bellamy-trained local has placed five times and one of those was a neck second here to Swift Charm who is Highway grade. He might just have found the right race at the right time. Queensway, a great granddaughter of Canny Lass, might be able to take some advantage of barrier 1 this time over 1400m. Sunyani is another horse that has drawn well in a moderate looking maiden.
Bet: Honourable to win, Daily Double 1st Leg (4), 2nd Leg (7)
RACE 7
Monte Outlander beat the handy Northern Rivers galloper Zenardee’s Lane when he made his regional debut for Noel Mayfield-Smith on September 4. This son of Real Impact was nosed out two weeks by Kris Lees’ Never Sorry - no disgrace in that. Home track. barrier 4, 1400m is a nice set-up. Velvet Haze is trained by the aforementioned Kris Lees who has a 30 per cent winning strike-rate at Coffs Harbour, As for Velvet Haze, she romped in on the Beaumont last start. Speaking of romping in, Lady Wardell was super impressive at Ipswich.
Bet: Monte Outlander to win, quinella 7, 10
RACE 8
Taikun Tommy has won three out of 30 but he has placed 7 times and anyone who knows the horse would rightfully argue that some of those placings could/should be wins if things had gone his way. That’s just the way it goes with horses with his pattern. Talent is not the issue, or being in-form, he just needs the right set of circumstances. Heir Apparent is working his way up to a well-earned win this campaign. Robarge caught the eye when finishing well late in the race won by the handy Bantarki at Taree. Playgirl is a bit hot and cold but in the mix.
Bet: Taikun Tommy to win, exacta 7 to beat
