BEST BET
PRAETOR
(R1, No. 2)
Lightly raced three-year-old gelding has improved with every start and looks ready to win up in trip.
NEXT BEST
ARZANI
(R5, No. 2)
Not the first in history to get beaten second up after maiden success but three year-old Jimmy Choux gelding did win with authority previously at Geelong and can strike back.
VALUE BET
INSIDE EDGE
(R3 No. 8)
Unlucky not to have won her past two starts at Benalla and Mornington respectively. Awkward draw the only knock.
WRECKING BALL
(R7 No. 6)
Having sixth run of preparation but has been thereabouts in past three starts without winning. Gets another chance from good draw.
THE TRAINER
ROBBIE GRIFFITHS
AMERICAIN BOY
(R2, No. 1)
Got lost and was very inexperienced at his first start, shuffled out the back and didn’t do a lot. Jockey recommended a tongue tie so we’ll try that. He’s trained well but we need to see him do something before we can be confident.
TANK ATTACK
(R4, No. 6)
Narrowly missed at the track two runs back, was caught a little bit wide last start. He gets his chance.
INVINCIBLE PRIDE
(R5, No. 5)
A little bit disappointed last start but has got blinkers on first time and trying the extra distance so see if those gear changes help.
CHRISTO MANIAC
(R6, No. 2)
He got caught off the track from a wide barrier last start but was good at Mornington before that, can run well in a race like this.
JOHN BOOKE
(R7, No. 8)
“Pretty safe each-way chance. He was only narrowly beaten first up, ran second, is drawn quite OK with (jockey) Brad Rawiller on-board so he can be a key player in the race.”
FABRICATION
(R8, No. 11)
“She’ll need the run.”
