Raceday focus: Best bets, analysis for The Valley on Friday night
Champion trainer Chris Waller has one of his charges primed for a breakthrough win while apprentice Josh Richards should also be among the winners at The Valley on Friday night.
Herald Sun form analyst Brad Waters runs the rule over Friday night’s meeting at The Valley.
BEST BET
AGNELLI (Race 3 No.4 – $2.80)
Agnelli was far from disgraced when second in Saturday grade last time out and he’ll at peak fitness for this. The Chris Waller-trained gelding can notch a deserved win on Friday night.

NEXT BEST
MADAME BOLLI (Race 4 No.2 – $4.20)
Madame Bolli’s first-up stats are misleading and she improved with experience last time in. She’ll get a good run behind the speed and should be strong late.
HE’S THE ULTIMATE (Race 7 No.3 – $4.20)
The favourite Mars Mission is promising but He’s The Ultimate showed his fighting qualities with a determined win at Pakenham. He’s drawn barrier two and having the services of Jamie Kah won’t hurt either.
BARRAGUNDA (Race 8 No.2 – $5)
Barragunda is just about ready to win after another solid effort at Pakenham. He’s at peak fitness and the 1500m should be perfect for him at this stage.
THE JOCKEY
JOSH RICHARDS
Apprentice Josh Richards has four rides at The Valley but can be confident in posting at least a winning double. MADAME BOLLI (Race 4 No.2 – $4.20), DIRECT (Race 5 No.1 – $1.30), ROLLING MISS (Race 7 No.4 – $19), RUBAN BLEU (Race 8 No.1 – $18).
