Herald Sun form analyst Brad Waters runs the rule over Friday night’s meeting at The Valley.

BEST BET

EVENING GLORY (Race 7 No. 11 – $5.50)

Evening Glory worked home OK at Caulfield second-up and will be on the fresh side for this. Expect him to be much harder to beat this time.

NEXT BEST

ELTEECEE (Race 2 No. 3 – $4)

Elteecee has done well this time in with three solid efforts, including a last-start win at Sale. He’ll roll forward and should be around the mark again at The Valley.

BORS (Race 33 No. 2 – $3.50)

Bors was outgunned by the handy Prix De Turn at Sandown but his previous form was good enough for this. Chris Waller has gone for the blinkers and that move should do the trick.

PLAYOFFS (Race 4 No.1 – $2.60)

Playoffs will be better suited back to this class after an excellent effort at Flemington. He’ll get every chance from barrier four and his record at 2500m is sound.

THE JOCKEY

MADISON LLOYD

Apprentice Madison Lloyd has only four rides but bookies say she has three serious winning chances. JUCCONI (Race 2 No.2 – $4), OKAY TO PAY (Race 5 No.5 – $5.50), AIMEE’S JEWEL (Race 6 No.2 – $19), ROCK TYCOON (Race 7 No.7 – $5.50).

THE WEEK AHEAD

The Australian Guineas meeting takes centre stage at Flemington on Saturday while Wangaratta also races. Colac and Sale will host Sunday’s meetings before the industry has Monday afternoon off. Racing resumes at Ballarat on Tuesday before city racing returns on Wednesday with a Sandown Hillside card.
