BEST BET

LOVE TAKES TIME (Race 7 No.7 – $2.90)

The promising mare had no luck getting clear when resuming at Mornington and has been freshened for this. Damien Oliver goes aboard at Love Takes Time can win at Sandown on her way to harder races.

NEXT BEST

SPINNING (Race 3 No.4 – $3.30)

The talented filly will find Wednesday’s assignment much easier than her solid efforts in Group 3 company. She’s drawn perfectly and should be running on hard late.

RURU (Race 5 No.4 – $3)

Ruru is ready to win after pushing forward and boxing on well at Flemington on Oaks Day. She’s up in trip but wasn’t disgraced in the Group 1 Queensland Oaks in this distance range last time in.

BOLD MANNER (Race 6 No.4 – $6.50)

Bold Manner did a good job in a similar race at Cranbourne last time out but will enjoy the longer break between runs her. Her best form is fresh, and she can improve at Sandown.

VALUE BET

REFLECTING IMAGE (Race 1 No.12 – $13)

Reflecting Image did her best work late when beaten two lengths over 1200m first-up at Pakenham but will be better suited over the 1400m second-up. She’s a great each-way chance at decent odds in the first at Sandown.

A fresh Damien Oliver is always worth following and he has five rides at Sandown on Wednesday. BANDERAS (Race 1 No.1 – $6.50), SPINNING (Race 3 No.4 – $3.30), PACKER’S BOND (Race 4 No.2 – $34), MAID OF IRON (Race 5 No.6 – $3.80), LOVE TAKES TIME (Race 7 No.7 – $2.90).

THE WEEK AHEAD

Mornington races on Thursday. A Terang meeting takes place during the day on Friday before a night meeting at The Valley. The Ballarat Cup will be the main Victorian meeting next Saturday while Penshurst and Tatura meetings are also scheduled. Monday racing will be at Hamilton next week before a Geelong meeting on Tuesday.
