Raceday focus: Best bets, analysis for Sandown Hillside on Wednesday
John Allen has a top book of rides at Sandown Hillside on Wednesday which includes a last-start winner and a $1.30 favourite.
Form analyst Jett Hatton runs the rule over the Wednesday meeting at Sandown Hillside.
BEST BET
VIVIANE (R4 No.9 – $2.30)
Showed promise early with a second to Argentia but put it all together last time out at Bendigo. Overcame plenty to win that day but her turn of foot over the final 150m indicated she’s a horse that will be winning more races.
NEXT BEST
PAL D’ORO (R6 No.2 – $4.20)
The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained gelding resumed with a soft win on the Lakeside circuit and should only improve off that effort. Stays at 1300m and with John Allen back aboard from a similar gate, it should be a similar result to last start.
MY DELIGHT (R8 No.12 – $5.00)
Chris Waller-trained mare that looks well placed to break through for her second win. Not sure if The Valley suited her last time out, so getting on to the more spacious Sandown track should play into her favour, as should the booking of Brett Prebble.
VALUE BET
WISAKA (R7 No.14 – $13)
This bloke was good enough to contest the Victoria Derby during his three-year-old season and looks well over the odds late in the day at Sandown. Bolted in first-up when last in work over a similar trip and with Jamie Mott in the saddle from a favourable draw, he can be in the finish at double figure odds.
JOCKEY
JOHN ALLEN
Allen has a stellar book of rides on Wednesday’s card, none better than the $1.30 favourite Port Louis in the second race.
YONCE (R1 No.11 – $12), PORT LOUIS (R2 No.7 – $1.30), DEFIANT DIVA (R3 No.8 – $4.80), SURECAN (R5 No.10 – $12), PAL D’ORO (R6 No.2 – $4.20), UNANIMOUS (R7 No.7 – $3.60), ABREED (R8 No.8 – $12)
