THE INSIDE MAIL FOR WAGGA

RACE 1

Supido Beauty got the first blemish on her record when she went to The Valley last start. That was in a Benchmark 70 but she’s back to a Class 2 in the bush second-up. Also an acceptor in Saturday’s Highway, she should be too good in the easier option on home turf. Master Joe got the maiden out of the way at Goulburn and only needs to replicate that display to be one of the chances again. Hispirit has a win and two placings from four starts this preparation. Gets the inside alley to continue that consistent run of form.

Bet: Supido Beauty to win.

RACE 2

Bia Tinne is a six-year-old with just three starts to his name but his first-up run was his best performance to date. The Pat Widdup-trained galloper made up solid ground from the back over the 1000m at this track. Looks like a horse that will lap up the rise to 1200m. Brave Image is a newcomer to the Mitchell Beer yard with a trial under his belt. Has three seconds from six starts. Stablemate Open Sky is on debut but has been rightly kept safe by the bookies. Amen Brother a likely second-up improver.

Bet: Bia Tinne to win.

RACE 3

Multiple Group 1 winning rider Danny Beasley can get his first winner back in Australia when he pilots Siasha Jewel. The Reward For Effort mare was good when making up ground to finish third at Wangaratta last time. Sticks at the mile for this. Les Goh found one better when a narrow second at Moruya. Third-up now, she should be ready to go. Military Manoeuver has been placed in half his runs this preparation and a win shouldn’t be far away. Zabellsareringing looks ready for the mile now.

Bet: Siasha Jewel to win.

RACE 4

Apprentices get their chance in the Heat Of The Rising Star and it’s an open affair. Kappy’s Angel is only lightly-raced with a win and two placings from five starts. Failed last start at this track but both starts before that had plenty of merit. Battle Talent is a capable galloper that wasn’t far away at Corowra last time. Excels at this trip Clever Choice put in an uncharacteristically bad performance last start but was second in two runs before that. Go Ellie Go is a consistent type. Must overcome the wide gate.

Bet: Kappy’s Angel to win.

RACE 5

A third and a second at Wagga at her past two has Georgie’s Mantra primed to run well again. Third-up now the daughter of Xtravagant should be ready to tackle the 1200m. Just has to find a good spot from an awkward draw. Rumours Abound is making his debut but has trialled well in the lead up. Won the latest of those tune ups in some style. Had Overrun drawn a better gate, he’d be right in this. His last run at Albury had plenty of merit. Expect Oh Yoko to be a sharp improver.

Bet: Georgie’s Mantra to win.

RACE 6

Lensman is a model of consistency. The Donna Scott-trained gelding hasn’t missed the placings in five runs this prep, breaking the maiden two starts back Albury. No reason why he can’t run well again at his first crack at 1800m. I Am Richenuff was a narrow runner-up at this track and trip before getting a long way back in a Highway. Garratt Road will enjoy the step up in trip. Will go forward from the inside gate and take some running down. Harderthantherest has to be included with two wins from his past three starts.

Bet: Lensman to win.

RACE 7

Invertational was well backed and duly saluted at this track last time. Steps up to the 1400m now but the way she ran through the line, that should be no issue. She’s only lightly-raced back can deliver again from the inside draw. Arachidi is the clear danger. Put two wins together to start her career before heading to Flemington, finding it a shade too tough. Buzz ‘N’ Joe is an experienced customer that has placed in all three runs this preparation. An upset win here wouldn’t be a complete shock.

Bet: Invertational to win.

RACE 8

Participator has battled some issues but his best is certainly good enough to return a winner. Was placed in a Highway event first-up last prep at Randwick. Had a quiet trial to have him ready for his latest first-up assignment. Saiko was best of the rest behind the classy Smokeshow at this track last time. Third-up now and up to 1200m. Smuggler’s Run rarely runs a bad race and it’s difficult to see that changing her. One of the chances along with the ever consistent Zouologist.

Bet: Participator to win.
