LISMORE
BEST BET
Race 1, No.2: BADOOSH
This horse is up here to claim an easy win. The wins in town haven’t come of late which has been disappointing but he should be hard to beat here.
NEXT BEST
Race 7, No.5: TOO MUCH CLASS
We want the rain to stay away and if it’s not too wet this horse looks to be winning this race. Well placed and in form.
QUADDIE
Race 5: 2, 5, 7, 9
Race 6: 3, 4, 6, 9
Race 7: 3, 4, 5, 6
Race 8: 1, 7, 14
TRAINER TO WATCH
Stephen Lee has a good hand in a few of these races and it wins with Lasting Kiss, Inari Fox and Spiele wouldn’t surprise.
HAWKESBURY
BEST BET
Race 6, No.1: GOLDEN POINT
He’s on his way to the Kosciuszko but should have the class to win this after a dominant win fresh and the stable is full of confidence.
JOCKEY TO WATCH
Kerrin McEvoy should be confident riding the likes of Razeta, Wealthy Investor and London.
THE INSIDE MAIL FOR LISMORE
RACE 5
Boogie Wonderland doesn’t win out of turn but is racing consistently of late and has performed well enough at this track this time in and from a good gate he should go close here. Rose Bouquet drops a bit in grade here and has only missed a placing once in five runs at this track and don’t rule out the stablemate, Beef Week Princess, who looks over the odds here at a track she’s won twice at and ran second on two other occasions from seven starts. Al Sahara is going along well but needs to find another win and this looks like a good race for her.
Bet: Beef Week Princess each-way
RACE 6
Amirykal is more than prepared for a race at this level and hasn’t been going too badly despite sixth and seventh place finishes this time in. She is at home where she’s won at before and might be the value hope here. V J Day has been going very well for a while now despite being an eight-year-old who is having his 47th start and sees this track for the first time but he seems to handle everything thrown his way. Mikado flew home to just miss out at Wyong first-up where he always runs well. He’s won second-up from five runs but hasn’t recorded any placings.
Bet: Amirykal to win
RACE 7
Stuck With You should be sitting on the speed here and will run the trip as a horse who has got back into form of late and is in good hands under an astute trainer. Spanish Point likes the cut out of the ground so the rain would be welcome here. Spanish Point should be running on and has the form to do well here at a decent price. Too Much Class shoots for three-straight after two dominant wins and looks well placed here to go to the next level but rain wouldn’t be ideal. Ambitious Prince won’t care if the track has given in it and will stay the trip.
Bet: Too Much Class to win
RACE 8
Gobbled likes to sit off the speed and should be able to do that from the gate and be one off the fence so if it all goes to plan, he gets all the favours with form behind him. Split Jete is going well but probably wants the rain to stay away. Stablemate Stoinka is probably in the same boat but has won at his only start here and he has a good racing pattern. Fasaichi Family has her best racing in front of her and the likely wet track shouldn’t hurt her fresh.
Bet: Gobbled to win
THE INSIDE MAIL FOR HAWKESBURY
RACE 6
Ang Pow is a very consistent horse in the early parts of his career and Will Freedman said he was his best horse before he moved to town to train with his father Richard and he’s a tough type who has a wide gate which is tricky considering his pattern which is better on speed. Dimaggio showed a fine turn of foot to in last time out and the extra trip must help and he is third-up now and peaking so must be hard to beat. All Machiavellian was also flying home last time against Dimaggio who had a run under its belt so the result could be reversed without surprise. Golden Point is a Kosciuszko horse and the expectation is that he comes out and wins this.
Bet: Golden Point to win
RACE 7
Superargo has run well here on two occasions and draws much better now and is on a quicker back up so should be an improver and is a real threat with a soft track on the menu. Deft Leopard also has a cushy gate and has handled wet tracks so far and is on his home circuit under a jockey that has ridden him at his only two starts so expect a good performance as a gelding. Noble Attack is knocking on the door but barrier nine at the 1300m star here is very awkward so luck is needed early on but he will be ridden positive.
Bet: Superargo to win
RACE 8
Forms Of Fear has had a little break between runs but that should be seen as a positive at 1100m here third-up under an astute trainer. And he’s got barrier one with a light weight so he’s well placed to win again. London has also drawn cushy and won here last start with the blinkers on for the first time and should be box seating and getting every hope of going back-to-back with a key rider booking. Shines is up to Sydney now for Team Hawkes off some promising performances down south last time in. He was pushed along to win a barrier trial ahead of his fresh run which isn’t always the play by the stable but it’s not a negative.
Bet: Shines to win
RACE 9
Sanstoc is fourth-up and dropping in grade so she’s well placed by a top trainer and will be on the speed and also likes getting her toe into the track so it sets up nicely in what is an open race. White Boots is also well placed in this grade and has had a couple of conditioning runs under his belt so look for improvement now. The home track horse Tycoon Hallie hasn’t missed a placing here in three runs and lost to a nice one last time.
Bet: Tycoon Hallie to win
