MUSWELLBROOK

BEST BET

Race 6, No. 7: SUMPTUARY

The Paul Messara-trained filly scored a stylish win on debut here back on January 16. Freshened and returned with a handy third to the flying Mogo Magic in a TAB Highway at Randwick two weeks ago.

The filly finally broke through with an impressive all-the-way win at Orange by three and a half lengths. With her confidence high, she can win again.

Race 7, No. 12: TAKARA STAR

She was a handy second to Surreal Lady at Gosford two runs back before a fourth at Hawkesbury in a Midway Maiden. Drops back to country grade and will give a sight.

THE INSIDE MAIL FOR KEMBLA

RACE 1

Eau De Vie is knocking on the door for her first win. Went back from a wide gate at Canterbury before running on for third behind Alfano. Struck interference at the start when third to Hollywood Hero last time out. Drawn out again so just needs a touch of luck. Burnt By Bernie battled away for second behind State of America over the 1600m at Gosford last start. Freshened since and given an easy trial. Mindspace made up good ground towards the inside at Kembla on Feb 23 to be less than two lengths behind Arts. Align The Planets finishing third in that same race coming down the outside.

Bet: Eau De Vie to win

RACE 2

Zarni sat behind the leader and hit the front before being caught on the line by Arts here last time out when it was better to be wider on the track. Handy fourth to Avebury before that on debut. Zoukeeper battled on well on debut for a close third to Condrieu at Goulburn after racing outside the leader. Vancouver’s Gem placed her at her second start back in December. Handy trial recently.

Bet: Zarni to win

RACE 3

Givara has shown ability with placings in four of his five starts. The latest was a three-quarter length third at Warwick Farm when resuming. Looks a good chance to break through here. Dakarai started favourite at Hawkesbury last start but failed to perform to expectations. Has trialled nicely since and expect a better performance here. Galactic Legend struck a heavy track on debut when always well back behind Matcha Latte on the Kensington last August before a trial win and a handy fourth to Scientist soon after. Resuming here and expect him to run well. Russian Rose chased home High Plateau, who looks smart, on debut.

Bet: Givara to win. Quinella/trifecta 1, 4, 5

RACE 4

Bacchanalia hasn’t won in six first-up runs but he can break that stat here. Form in his last two campaigns were solid without winning. He showed good speed to lead all-the-way in a recent and was never let off the bit. Dynamic Impact has won eight races yet has never finished second or third. Scored back-to-back wins at Canterbury before a closing fourth to Much Much Better at Randwick last start. The Face returns from a spell has won both his recent barrier trials in good fashion. Flying Crazy had to change course to find clear running when resuming at Rosehill and was doing his best work late.

Bet: Bacchanalia to win

RACE 5

Auspicious Cloud went back from a wide gate before running on well to finish second behind Infinitive over 1900m at Canterbury on Feb 24. She steps up to 2400m here and was beaten a nose at her only run at the trip. Drawn to race prominently which helps. I Am The Empire placed at his first three runs this time in before breaking through over 2140m at Goulburn on Feb 16. Will give another bold sight. Mikasa failed to handle the going at Warwick Farm last start. Led and won there the start prior. Essential Sky drops back in grade and gets a 3kg claim.

Bet: Auspicious Cloud to win

RACE 6

Spats Pav Bowie recorded back-to-back wins at Queanbeyan and Kembla before finishing down the order in the Provincial-Midway Championship Qualifier here on Feb 23. Returns to his right grade and can bounce back. Pure Hydrogen won two of his last three with a fifth to Spats Pav Bowie splitting them. Will be in the finish again. Smartawi scored a nice win at Muswellbrook and followed up with equally good win at Taree. Among the chances again. Tip Top Timing is racing well and will give a sight.

Bet: Spats Pav Bowie to win

RACE 7

Call Di broke her maiden when resuming on the Kensington before heading to Melbourne where she was a little unlucky the third to Shuffle Dancer in the Group 2 Angus Armanasco at Sandown. A daughter of Frankel and Samantha Miss, she will appreciate the step up to the mile and hopefully a good tempo will see her finish over the top. Kiwi visitor Polygon has been good winning her past two in stakes company at Te Rapa. Keep her safe. Pavitra is also acceptors at other meeting over the weekend. Certainly a live chance if she does run here. If she doesn’t, Petersham is a place chance on her good win at Newcastle.

Bet: Call Di to win

RACE 8

Toesonthenose has been off the scene for 10 months but he was racing consistently last campaign and was a little unlucky when third at Hawkesbury two starts back. His two recent trials were good and from the nice draw, can run a bold race. Bindi’s Choice scored a big win in her maiden victory last time out and is a leading chance again. Capital Asset has claims on his last start Wyong win. Standing Order should be kept safe.

Bet: Toesonthenose each-way
