HAWKESBURY

BEST BET

Race 3, No.4: MISS MYA

She raced green up the straight on debut but looked to be a talent and she gets onto a bigger track now. Should have taken plenty out of that run.

NEXT BEST

Race 4, No.1: BEIRUT MISS

She’s got a wide gate but has the early speed to cross them and sit outside the leader. She’s got great from around her like Pretty Wild and Glacier Queen.

QUADDIE

Race 5: 3, 5, 7, 11

Race 6: 1, 3, 7

Race 7: 1, 3, 7

Race 8: 4, 8, 10, 12

TRAINER TO WATCH

Joe Pride only has two horses running, Beirut Miss and Monte Invincible, but he could easily win the fourth and fifth races with the pair.

MURWILLUMBAH

BEST BET

Race 4, No.2: BEG ME

He’s run second at his past two but was just beaten by a better one on the day last time and was still surging through the line strongly so suggest he’s in top form for this.

JOCKEY TO WATCH

Matthew McGuren has a few good rides here with Miss Antarctica looking promising as does Aquarius and Dorset Coast.

THE INSIDE MAIL FOR HAWKESBURY

RACE 5

Notifies had drawn wide but it’s not the worst thing from this start with just one corner in the race and she’ll push forward and put herself into it with more fitness on her side from a debut second here two weeks ago. Monte Invincible has drawn out for her debut but showed gate speed in her latest trial and looked the part. Taurasi has put in a few performances so far that would see her just about win this race and getting onto a firmer track might be the key.

Bet: Monte Invincible to win

RACE 6

Fielding has never run outside the top three and the claim gets him into this race with a winnable weight and his will to win should put him in the finish third-up. Dollar Magic should find this a tough easier after running fourth in town first-up and she’s got a second-up city win to her name. The wide gate isn’t ideal but she’s got the speed to overcome it. Wonderwomen powered to a nice win here last time and gets a suck run from the draw and is only third-up so racing in a higher class race shouldn’t stop her from winning again.

Bet: Fielding to win

RACE 7

Destiny’s Bounty flew out of the gates first-up at Warwick Farm over 1200m and went on to dominate the race with 60kg on his back. He’s got 58.5kg here thanks to a claim and if he can jump half as good this time, he’ll still be on the speed having crossed them. The Himalayas didn’t get the easiest of runs in winning here a fortnight ago first-up which was obviously a good sign as to how well she’s returned. Pole Position raced greenly in the straight first-up but there looks to be plenty of natural ability in him and when the penny drops, he’ll likely strong a few together.

Bet: Destiny’s Bounty to win

RACE 8

Very open race to end the day and luck in running will play a role. Adios Steve likes to put himself into his races and is third-up now and is being tested at a mile again and he looks ready for it. Glamour Fox finds her easiest assignment in some time but is out of form. Roseirro let down very well to win in town last time and was scratched from a city race yesterday for this to race from a better gate. Salsonic is going to start at any old odds but if the rain doesn’t come, he’s going to go around overs.

Bet: Roseirro to win

THE INSIDE MAIL FOR MURWILLUMBAH

RACE 4

Beg Me is knocking on the door after two seconds leading up to this and he was beaten last time but wasn’t fading on the line and there’s no reason to drop off him off that run. Go Millo has stronger form and is racing well but has only won once from 28 starts and might be suspect at the trip. Bullet Hero has also only won one time but has only raced 11 times and broke through last start to win nicely and can go on with it at a stage of his career where the best is still in front.

Bet: Beg Me to win

RACE 5

Empress Zou is the up-and-comer of the field here and is much better suited to getting up to 1200m after running on well over 1000m fresh. The only knock is that she’s a filly taking on the older mares with the top weight. I’m Gunna Cashew should sit in behind the leaders from an inside gate and stalk the speed and get every chance with clear air and she’s won second-up in the past. Cherry Soda has been running on well from wider gates but has drawn better now and shouldn’t have as much to do and 1200m also suits.

Bet: I’m Gunna Cashew to win

RACE 6

I Am A Hit has put in two nice runs this time in up north and could’ve easily won both times. He’s third-up now but has had six weeks off so staying at 1200m is fair enough. He’ll take a sit and run on again. Dorset Coast likes to run over more ground and has a 1000m win but that was a long time ago. He’s in a powerful stable though. Lucap has found form again and shoots for three-straight here but needs the rain to come.

Bet: I Am A Hit to win

RACE 7

Loburn Lass wants the rain to stay away and she’ll look to lead all the way here and she might be vulnerable late having not won past 1400m yet but she should be giving this open affair a shake. Miss Antarctica beat Exhibitor home two starts back and it’s came out and won since so a repeat of that form gives her a chance here. Won nicely three starts back and drops down in grade here after a couple of city runs in Brisbane.

Bet: Miss Antarctica to win
