Victorian gelding It’sourtime aimed at 2025 King Of The Mountain in Toowoomba, 2025 The Archer in Rockhampton
Victorian gelding It’sourtime will race in the upcoming King Of The Mountain slot race in Toowoomba after changing ownership and stables.
Victorian horse It’sourtime is about to become an honorary Queenslander after being selected for a slot in the upcoming King Of The Mountain in Toowoomba.
Brisbane syndicators High Calibre Racing (HCR) paid $40,000 for an auctioned slot in the $750,000 race on Friday week.
“He’s going to race in Queensland now. We’ve bought a stake in him and he’ll race in our slot,” HCR managing director Dale Maguire told Racenet on Monday.
“We’re only the little guys, we’re not the big players, so for us it’s a bit of a throw at the stumps. We’re going to have a massive crack.”

HCR has bought a stake in the seven-year-old gelding, who has been transferred from Danny O’Brien’s Victorian stables to Toowoomba trainer Pat Webster.
It’sourtime will arrive in the Garden City on Thursday, just 12 days after finishing ninth of 15 behind star mare Joliestar in the $1.5m Group 1 Newmarket (1200m) at Flemington.
Maguire said the King Of The Mountain slot for the prestigious 1200m contest was only valid for one year.
He said It’sourtime also had a slot in the $1m The Archer (1300m) in Rockhampton on April 27 and would be set for a third-up tilt at the $1.5m Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1200m) on May 17.

“We’ll see how he goes the next couple of starts. Hopefully he can line up in the Winter Carnival and some of these nice races if his form warrants it,” Maguire said.
“He’s got the runs on the board in quality races down south and he profiles well for the King Of The Mountain against the Queensland sprinters.
“If we didn’t offer the money to take over (It’sourtime), Danny O’Brien was never going to take the horse to Queensland for this race.
“We think we’ve got another two seasons left with him.”

Webster said over the past two months he had kept a close eye on It’sourtime, who had won more than $1m in prizemoney across his 42 starts for seven victories.
He will have just eight days to prepare the gelding for his first assignment in Queensland following his Newmarket run.
“He only started in a Group 1 last week so hopefully we haven’t gone backwards too far,” Webster said.
“Hopefully he handles the trip (up north), that’s the main thing. He’s got to adapt to Queensland racing.”
The King Of The Mountain, won last year by the Rob Heathcote-trained Rothfire, will be held on the Show Day holiday in Toowoomba.
