QUEENSLAND’S Stradbroke Handicap has a new naming sponsor with wagering company UBET taking over from longstanding commercial partner AAMI.
The iconic sprint will now be known as the UBET Stradbroke under a three-year deal struck between the betting company and Brisbane Racing Club.
Tatts Group chief executive Robbie Cooke and UBET chief operating officer Brendan Parnell will join BRC Chairman Neville Bell at Eagle Farm today to announce the fresh deal.
“The Stradbroke is a highlight in the state’s sport and social calendar, and as Queensland’s official wagering operator it is really great to have the opportunity to be the official sponsor of this famous event,” Mr Cooke said.
“We have worked very closely with the BRC on upgrading UBET’s presence on-site as part of the Eagle Farm upgrade and we look forward to continuing that strong association into the future.”
The revamped and recently reopened Eagle Farm racecourse copped plenty of criticism during this year’s Winter Carnival but all indications are the track will have matured to be in perfect condition for next year’s Carnival.
The UBET Stradbroke will be run on June 10 next year.
