Twist adds some Danish flavour to Tatts Tiara

AS nominal favourites Azkadellia and Ghisoni faltered in Brisbane, Danish Twist emerged as a leading hope for the Group 1 Tatts Tiara after easily navigating a drop in distance to claim the June Stakes in Sydney at the weekend.
It was the fourth win on end for Danish Twist, who was given a freshen up away from the stable following her previous win at Scone.
Kris Lees’ stable representative Lucas Miller said Danish Twist had now earned her chance in the final Group 1 of the season.
Connections on Sunday indicated Azkadellia had pulled up with no problems after finishing down the track in the Stradbroke and she is expected to press onto the Tiara.
So too will Precious Gem, who pleased Henry Dwyer with her sixth placing in the Stradbroke.
QTC Cup scratching Sultry Feeling is another confirmed Tiara runner.
A decision on Ghisoni running in the Tiara is pending. Trainer John O’Shea is in the UK this week supervising Holler’s tilt at Royal Ascot.
Tony Pike is hoping to keep his magical winter rolling, with Stradbroke improver Sacred Star now set to run in the Glasshouse next month, a race Darren Weir is considering for QTC Cup placegetter Stratum Star.
