The field has been declared and barriers drawn for the 104th running of $5m Group 1 WS Cox Plate at The Valley on Saturday.

Known as the weight-for-age championship of Australasia, the Cox Plate is run over 2040m.

This year a field of nine will face the starter after two late additions to the field – Kovalica and Royal Patronage.

This year’s there are five Group 1 winners in the field – Mr Brightside, Kovalica, Pride Of Jenni, Via Sistina and Broadsiding while the other four runners – Prognosis, Royal Patronage, Docklands and Evaporate – are all Group 1 placed.

Japanese raider Prognosis is the current favourite at $3 with Ladbrokes, ahead of Via Sistina ($4.20), Pride Of Jenni ($5), Broadsiding ($7) and Mr Brightside ($9).
